  • O Brother Where Art Thou. Sounds familiar.

    Great though

  • Great walking blues, keep at it.

    ...Get a haircut though...

  • Very nice job.

  • cool!!!!

  • I thought piedmont is style of ragtime which this isn't.

  • dude you look dead lol smile or something.

  • dude, he's got the blues

  • no, he REALLY looks dead^^! a smile can't hurt ;)

  • That was cool NelsonReep, i've recently been devoting most of my time to learning blues guitar. Eric Clapton's (amazing guitar) unplugged album sparked it off and has led me to Delta Blues. I believe you have to allow yourself to be possessed by the feelings you draw from listening to the masters then you have to take how you feel and use it to dictate how you play at any given time. you will know your ready when your music allows people to see your soul wether the devil owns it or not.

  • u got tabs?

  • Very good chap!

  • This isn't delta blues, there's a real stylistic difference in the picking and tempo. This is piedmont blues.

Hard Time Killin' Floor aint an easy song, and you played it well, but there was no emotion! This ain't the way Skip played it, but the way from Brother Where Art Thou, am I correct?

  • Isn't this Bentonia?

  • I think of it as Piedmont because of the finger picking style, but because of the tuning it is also known as "Bentonia" yes. This is mainly because it was where Skip James was from, and he kinda made it famous!

  • Isn't this Bentonia?

  • This aint Skips version its CTKs version from the movie...

  • *clap* *clap* *clap*

    I know. God...

  • Well if it aint Skips version it aint piedmont blues!

  • ...What?

  • Look i guess i have to make it a little clearer. This is CTKs version. And in case you didnt listen do both versions. CTKs version is different. By different i mean slower tempo, guitar pick is used, its tuned in drop d etc., thus not making it piedmont blues as you said it is in your comment, but something else i think south blues. More like country blues is this version. Get it?

  • It is not a Delta blues song, it is a peidmont blues song. - That was my point. I don't really care to argue over something so trivial.

    Peace.

  • Tuned in Dadfad actually

  • He's reading tabs from a website and is playing standard blues, this guy shouldnt even be compared to Skip James
