  • a common LED?

  • @thiagotecnico Yeah!

  • Where i can download it?

  • @jocika99 It - what?

  • @Valet2 The software-.-

  • @jocika99 Well, it might be on a harddrive from this old computer which may be still laying somewhere in the room. I will upload it when I find.

  • how did you make this? i have a coax on my mobo, and an open spdif out header right behind it so im pretty sure i can use that for optical. just dont know how to wire it up, or where to find an adapter

  • All you need is to connect a led to spdif output. It will work.

  • @Valet2 I own a AWE32 with a S/PDIF header. Does this mod only work with the MIDI output or do all sounds (including FM) work with this?

  • @Dant2142 No, only sound produced my internal midi-synth (or whatever, don't remember) will be put through s/pdif. The best way to use it is to record this kind of music without noises.

Actually you can just connect both s/pdif output and input with a cable - LED is not needed.

If I remember correctly, there are a vertical line of contacts on the board. Two ones on the bottom are s/pdif output. Which one is neutral and which is data - check both variants. It won't kill your equipment.

  • @Valet2 Might consider trying it out then. Also, I did some more checking around, seems later model AWE32s that don't have a dedicated OPL chip might output FM through S/PDIF. I can't confirm this as both of my 32s have an OPL.

  • @Dant2142 only the gold version which has a digital mixer chip

  • good...
