  • This song is a trip between past and futur, action, emotion, thrill!

  • You gotta love the "Bond....Simon Le Bond..."part at the end.

  • This is when the bond themes really started to become cool. I saw this some performed live once, and there were some serious sampling glitches, it was cool to watch the boys recover from that problem on stage. Still say Goldeneye is the best with 'You know my name' a close second.

  • @robbelliii This and "You know my name" are my personal favourite Bond themes! ^_^

  • that flying camera is classic ha ha

  • 3:46 hahahahahahahahaha DETONATE EIFFEL TOWER

  • They should stick to their day job (they're great musicians, but terrible spies!)

  • There's so much sly wit and fun in this video.

  • I love how the accordion is in tune with the music

  • Simons t shirt is in fashion again

  • the 80s when james bond was funny and i had no worries about money

  • Ron Wyden can take his hippe, liberal, Oregon commercials to a yurt on the coast and stay there!

  • That bass line is awesome.

  • Roger at 3:12 is funny.

  • Bon,Simon Le Bon ;D

  • I love how his whole job in the video is just to stand there the whole time and blow stuff up..

  • heureux, j'ai écris ceci

let hear the summer for see and play dance give for the music i n the whirlwind of gold and stance viewing stance the hunt lows by the ballad of longside my way cold never more never maria street all feet to my cold viewing stance all feet dance i want to stop the mountains ever going to help my music

  • Paul Mc Cartney.....Carly Simon and Madonna....had theme songs from James Bond movies go into the top 5 but Duran Duran was the ONLY group or singer(s) to take James Bond all the way to #1 and they did that in July of 1985

  • First song I ever heard on compact disk. Ahh, 1986 when I was 7 years old.

  • sooooo totally 80's music- campy but got to love it!!

  • best bond theme song of all time, orchestra is very complimentary and john's bass work stands out - die another day is a distant second as far as bond theme songs are concerned

  • haha, i love this ironic video of spy, great song of 85

  • bierber fans are a collective shit stain on duran duran's underpants, no matter how outdated they are...

  • i wonder how funny our fashion trends will seem in 20 years...

  • what's the guys name who goes on the telescope and starts shooting? lol

  • @Antworrioress07 John Taylor, bassist for duran duran

  • fun. dated, but gotta love Duran Duran

  • its on now itv1

  • Holy shit, I just won that flying video camera in an auction on e-bay! Haven't tested whether or not it flies as yet.

  • God I miss the 80's music video.

  • @skippyau Are you mental?! It totally kicks arse!

  • One of THE BEST Bond themes ever...Matched with a brilliant tongue in cheek video-AWESOME.

  • This is still a wickedly cool song! One of my fave Bond themes of all time!

  • lovely tacky vid just gotta love

  • fatal kiss

  • Silly, but wonderfully nostalgic. These guys definitely put a lot into their videos. They also produced some good music.

  • whats with the stupid flying cameras, i never got that

  • whats up with the shitty camers?? nasty!!

  • Hmmm, so it shows the Eifel Tower getting blown up at the end.

And thus this will soon become a piece used in Conspiracy Theorist speculation in due time.

  • rhodes nick rhodes. ;D ♥

  • @xDuranDuran

    Nick rhodes is HAWT!!! <3

  • @Gdev02 Nick Rhodes is Indescribable <3 (:

  • Don't fuck with Duran Duran.

  • simon le bon o erwtas mou!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i've seen less inconspicuous people dressed up as santa claus on a august afternoon.

  • Grace JONES....NOT Grace Slick

  • God I love this film. It's so 80s....from Grace Slick to the awful acting of Tanya Roberts....and of course Duran Duran.

  • This song atracted me to the Bond universe since this one was the first Bond movie I´ve seen.

  • thomas..the video is good for that time 1985....dont compare to nowaday MTV such as lady gaga etc...duran duran forever.........^^

  • the video sucks so hard ! XD

    but I like the song

  • Well, that was a lot lamer than I remembered it.

  • Sorry but there is no way this song should have been voted a better Jame's bond song than "Live and let Die". The two songs are not even in the same league.

  • my name is Bon, Simon Le Bon!

    classic...

  • Grace Slick, 'nuff said!

  • View to a Kill. Great song, terrific video, truly awful James Bond film.

  • @rune081624 It has Christophger Walken as the villian.

  • great video! unforgattable!

  • This is the worst music video ever

  • @asb3stos

I agree. It was so bad this single remains the only Bond theme to go to Number 1 on the U.S. charts, and the highest-placed Bond theme on the UK chart where it reached Number 2. Now that's bad music for you!

  • @asb3stos ur so mean!@youtube asb3stos!!!!not nice to Duran Duran it's great music!!)

  • 2:58 - 2:59 Oh be still, my ovaries!

  • @tylenoljunkie lol, talkin' about JT? ... I always envied him; a man wanted by every woman on earth ... damn 'im ... lol

  • @groofoot I usually prefer smart, geeky funny men, but JT is just.....guh. The fact that you acknowledge his hotness should already score you some brownie points with JT fans :)

  • Hit #1 pop, #42 rock in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in the UK? Love how at the end, Simon says, 'Bon. Simon LeBon.' LOL!

  • @DaveWollenberg yeppers ... this one went all the way to no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. In the u.k., it peaked at no. 2. Their only trans Atlantic no. 1 was The Reflex. Gotta love Nick, 'Look over yer Showl-der!'

  • cheesy 80's effects lol

  • this song just makes you wanna mosh ......

  • Duran Duran to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

  • Ah, Childhood memories, man I fucking loved this song as a kid. Ah nothing like the Bond marathons with the family on Saturdays.

Hey anyone remember Bond Week they use do all the time on ITV? Man that was something too look forward to.

I must have worn the video of A View To A Kill out by re watching the title sequence, lol.

  • The song is awesome and the movie kicks ass!

  • just nice !!!

  • Does anyone know eho that hot model was? The one taking photoshoots

  • that's some range on that remote, paris- san francisco!

  • This was the jam in 85 for real!!!

  • I don't think the world is ready for view 't' kill

  • Still one my favorites of all time. I LOVE the little whine in Simon's voice- very sexy.

  • Awesome song!

  • nice song indeed :)

  • that fatal kiss is all we need,,,nice lyrics

  • i love this song and this is my favourite bond movie!!!

  • My joint-favourite Bond theme alongside "Live and Let it Die"

  • @jsam93 i hope you mean live and let die by guns n roses?

  • @falloutdude1995 Nope. Paul McCartney and Wings

  • Roger moore best bond, try me! lol sean second but rogers one liners were the best. sean was boring. yea i said it! lol

  • @Domain441 Wow, asinine and stupidity in one.

But I will admit Moore did a better job as Bond then Craig and Lazenby, Lazeby wasnt a complete shitfest he just didnt fit the role.

Moore became too camp and a joke, but was always fun to watch, like his films he started out promising then they just went downhill and became only good for their unbelievable cheese and laugh factor.

  • My all-time favorite band from the 80s, time has proven them to be the best from their era.

  • 2nd American #1 for the Durans. Led by Bon, Simon LeBon. Heh, heh.

  • Number 2 in 1985 in the UK

  • 2:00

    OAUGH!

  • Bon... Simon Le Bon, jajaja.

  • #1 billboard song the day i was born... kewl!

  • Ahh why can't the new Bond movies have themes like this.. :(

  • @MilesGos Why cant the new Bond films be any good is the question?

  • The first Bond theme that went to number1.

  • who is the model ? the girl that the blonde guy is taken pictures

  • I believe she's Gail Elliott.

  • Bon, Simon LeBon.

25 years and that ending still makes me laugh!

  • Don't get it twisted guys, Simon, John, Nick, Roger and Andy are still PLAYERS, not just musical geniuses!

  • THE ENDING WAS THE BEST !!!!!!!!!!

  • nice musuic

  • @jwindyboy LMAO, that thingy was getting on my nerves, it nearly ruins the vid!

  • BON... SIMON LE BON

  • @Industrialdisease Still my favorite ending to a music video, 25 years later.

  • Duran Duran #1 always and forever!

  • love this song and the location is awsome!

  • big hair! funky jackets! those were the days...(its coming back, just wait...)

  • you can bet on it! it's a cicle

  • I hope Members Only jackets come back because Ive been dying to wear mine again.

  • haha nice at the end!

  • Welcome Executor Guardians !!!!

  • I heard about the wild night they had the night before shooting this. One of the many reasons of why Andy left the first time. Lets just say John and Nick didn't have such a good night. LOL

  • more info please ....

  • Well, I heard about Andys book and he was saying something like Nick got locked out of his hotel room by his then wife Julie-Ann who then moved to the balcony of their room screaming at the top of her lungs. He couldn't get into the room so he paced the hallway trying not to lose his mind. And John I think it was when he got soooo drunk and high and broke some shit in his room and was crying like a baby all night long. I dont know if I got Johns story straight but thats what I heard.

  • funny & crazy stories about them ..... I miss the moment when we were young & when they 're still on the spot of highlight.... I miss the 80's.

btw. .... thank you very much for those stories.

  • Yes me too. But we're not THAT old so dont sweat it.

  • poor nick and john! At least that wont happen to them again. due to the fact that nick's divorced and john's got his head straight now.

  • They're are not as wild as they used to be but I think they all still have a little bit of crazy left in them. Im just glad it doesn't include drugs and crazy wives any more. LOL

  • Ah yes who doesn't like DURAN DURAN

  • Good music along with a good movie. Christopher Walken - one of my favorite actors - in a James Bond movie. How can you go wrong?

  • Look ovah ya sholdah. 1:48

  • History according to music videos: May 5th, 1985. Criminal activity, Eiffel Tower, Paris. John Taylor charged with attempted murder of a parachutist. Roger Taylor, over parked van in a loading zone. Simon Le Bon, suspicion of blowing up a helicopter in Siberia, a dirigible in San Francisco, and a postcard rack. Andy Taylor harms Nick Rhodes ears by playing "Take It Easy" on the accordion.

  • LMAO!! :) That was too Funny!

  • Awesome!

  • Aaaaahahahahahaaaaa. Funny.

  • @CofCGuy And to think 25 years ago to the day, well okay tomorrow will have been the 2nd week that Duran Duran held the #1 spot on Billboard's HOT 100 charts with "A View To A Kill"!

  • There is something so special about this song I don't know how to put it into words, on another note this is the only Bond theme song to hit #1. . .

  • Bon. Simon...Le Bon ;)

  • When you are ollder and time is short ,you will see the meaning

  • simon lebon looks badass in this video haha

  • This is my favorite song to play in my SL500. The horns at the begining really scream on my tweaters. Play it LOUD! Try it. I love it!

  • What strikes me is how well written this song is, compared to a lot of the "hit" music I've caught snatches of, recently. These guys didn't just fall back on playing the same four chords in the home key, over & over again. (Hello, Black Eye'd Peas!) The music starts in one key, then makes a couple of surprising modulations through some other keys before returning home. There's tonal ambiguity to this song that's just not evident in most of today's popular music.

  • Its called funk rhythm line...

  • Darn than Nick Rhodes! Inspired me to wear eyeliner. He and John were the best looking. but Andy had the most energy, and Simon vied for john for best dresser.

Poor Roger, rock solid rhythm, never gets the credit for it. Duran duran would not exist if not for all five.

My left nut for any of these guys places...

It was only the 80s, but they ruled it.

perhaps it is better to be a big fish...

  • Duran Duran is perhaps one of the most prolific bands EVER!

  • music has not evolved

  • uhh.. you think music has stayed exactly the same for two decades?

  • uhh.. the phrase "evolved" implies that it has grown, or gotten better, which it has not.

  • no it doesn't you schmuck

  • Music hasn't evolved. It has changed. Hell, one could argue it has devolved...the late 90's may have ruined mainstream music with 13 year olds dominating tastes and suddenly...someone like Britney Spears who has no more range than your random church singer, is a MEGA star because of style...not substance. For every Leona Lewis, Radiohead, or Murs...there are 100 Souljah Boys, Nickelbacks, or Lady Gagas. You won't see another Luther Vandross anymore because the VOICE isn't enough. It's terrible

  • LMFAO, Hahah I grew up in the 80's. It's funny how music has evolved....

  • No after the 80's the music deteriorated.

  • I have this song on my I pod. I still love the song.

  • John Taylor had the best mullet ever.

  • the vid is corny but the song is awesome!

  • A cheerleader from my HS is in this vid...you can see the back of her jacket on the Tower...she happened to be in France when they filmed this!

  • was she the girl standing next to John by the binocular things?

  • its my mum

  • Haha... mullet at 0:40.

  • Not a huge JB fan, but DD is awesome...

Great vid.. THX 4 posting it !!!!

  • john taylor is so sexy as always!=] lol

  • Simon is so cute!

  • simon le bon is gorgeous in this video.i friggin can't believe he is 50 years old.i still love him.
