  • so so love this track, looked for it for 20 yrs, reminds me of cleethorpes winter gardens all the way...... bigtime thank you :-)

  • pure quality.....

  • I had forgotten all about this gem until I stumbled across your channel. Thanks so much for posting this quality track. Sooooooo Goooooooood!

  • This is actually Norman Connors featuring Ms. Adiritha (aka Ada Dyer) from the Norman Connors album Take It To The Limit

  • This lady has a cracking vocal capacity & the tightness of the strings to this day still hold it.

    The bass is outstanding.

  • I love the break at 3:12, it's so energizing. Until I find this on CD or mp3 and can only listen on the computer on here, ill keep the screen open ;) Can't sit in front of the turntable all day.

  • I would love to hear this at the beginning of a movie that takes place in NYC in the 70s. This beats any of the cliche disco tunes hands down.

  • And those are the Jones Girls singing backups.

  • The I-Beam Club in San Francisco; circa 1980. I saw and heard Adaritha sing this live (to track) on New Year's Eve 1980/81. The headline was Adaritha 10:30PM, Vicky-Sue Robinson 12:mindnight, and Jean Carne 1:30AM... and champagne, too! And all for $40.00. Aah, the good-ol' days. I was only 24.

  • It sounds like a cliche but this is one bad mother of a tune . Raw, sexy, throbbing base line, strings, lyrics, vocals of chaka - and sweet sweet melodies

how can todays stuff even compare to this ? please someone tell me what is it that i dont get about music in 2010? EDUCATE ME PLEASE

  • best disco song ever, I have a mislabeld 45 and never knew who the artist was for 20 years, thanks for the posting

  • great track,aquarian dream,love it

  • This absolutely blew me away the first time I heard it. Norman Conners certainly knows a good singer when he hears one! Jean Carn, Phyllis Hyman, Eleanor Mills, Michael Henderson, Dee Dee Bridgewater - and Miss Adaritha here. My kinda music.

  • Lets all sing it.........Lets take it to the Limit

  • 'you got to go all the way for love don't go half way'...'you got to go all the way for love don't go half way'...'you got to go all the way for love don't go half way'...'take it to the limit '...haven't heard in ages..yeah it's got me singing...fab track!!...thanks for the share...xx

  • To me this song is 4 minutes of pure happiness. And it's one of those tunes that sure gets you singing. Cheers!

  • @WestLakeGoIt sounds like a cliche but this is one bad mother of a tune . Raw, sexy, throbbing base line, strings, lyrics, vocals of chaka - and sweet sweet melodies

  • Adaritha-Nice Khan-Klone! If Chaka got a dime for every singer that she's influenced or has bitten her style she'd be a billionaire! the record industry owes her BIG TIME!!!

  • Well, when it comes to Chaka i always want to hear my all time favourite with her: Clouds! :DDDD

  • @WestLakeGold That's my favourite too, both these songs really have the bright fresh happiness to them like a sunny crisp morning.

  • Pity the Chaka Khan's "influence" didn't rub off on some of today's talentless crew (male and female, black and white), who appear to think that randomly running up and down the musical scales amounts to "Soulful" singing! (This applies equally to many modern day "Gospel" singers, who once having set the standard for soulful and emotional performances, now follow the same 'Whitney-Houston' style commercial blandness!)

  • Drwhatson I could Kiss You!!! Preach!!! You said just what I've been saying for years!!! Wow I'm blown to hear someone else putting it so cocisely & Eloquently at that!!!

  • Thank you for that! A kiss would be a welcome change from a lot of the comments I get back! LOL

Seriously, I see from comments on Youtube that a lot of people appear to feel the same way. Even the term 'SOUL MUSIC' has been hijacked by these contemporary soul-less meanderers. Maybe we should all get together and start a club!? "The International REAL SOUL MUSIC Preservation Society" Motto: Down with the perpetrators of 'Pseudo-Soul' :-)

  • I'm On Board!!!

  • @drwhatson

    AAAMENNNN!!!!

    DID YA HEAR THAT BEYONCE?

  • good record

  • OMG timeless classic, amazing song that brings back sooo many memories of blackpool mecca alldayers,5*****

  • Yessss! Thank you!!

  • You're welcome! Cheers!

  • This is one of those what I like to call "monster jams". This song has it all....excellent arrangement, vocals, and production. Thank you so very much for the post.

  • Connors production at its best!

  • that is adaritha or ada dyer singing

  • what a vocal!

  • great vocal

  • awesome vocal ;)

  • Absolute monster at Morecambe Pier and the Warrington Parr Hall All-Nighters

  • Thank you my friend. I've been waiting for someone to put this up. This is disco at it's best.... a quality production and excellent lead vocal.
