Very beautiful! I think this version is the best. I am trying to get it everywhere, but I only find the "regular" one. if someone know where I can find the music sheet of this version, please tell me!
Absolutely beautiful performance and in the true style of Renaissance. Only the description on the lable is wrong. What I hear is not a guitar but either lute or vihuela. Thank you for posting anyway. The more you post of this kind the better. M.

Saludos.
@Feanor88 It's a medley. The first variation is by Narváez, the second I think is Shirley Rumsy's own, the third is Narváez again, but modified by S.R. Variations four and five are by Enriquez de Valderrábano and the last variation is Narváez again (a reprise of the first).
Thank you. That's beautiful.

Pensaba que las vacas guardan los hindúes, no los cristianos.

I think this might be a mixture of a personal arrangement and the music by Narváez.
The original score is different (el sexto libro del delfín de música)

Shirley Rumsey, married to the great lutenist Christopher Wilson, is an excellent singerin and lute & vihuela player.
Great thanks !

Yes, you are right about the instrument. Since I lost the disc cover, I neither know what it is, lute or vihuela

@tweenoo
I'm almost certain that it's a vihuela. A lute has a more nasal quality.
perfectdisguisetay 11 months ago
hi folks
what you arehearing is a vihuela
it was made in 1988,by an Englishman called Paul Thomson
It's tuned in G,same as a lute(same intervals on the strings,etc)
Hence the confusion,perhaps
best wishes

nice diferencias. It's endless, isn't it?
play on.
I do believe THERE'S NO HURRY though. Please do comment on my rendition.

That's beautiful, I hadn't heard those concrete differences on this piece.
Were this composed by Narváez, or is it a personal arrangement?

He is the composer
