Religion doesn't matter in music. In fact, I've been a Heathen, Agnostic, and Satanic, in my life time, and still to this day I stand against Christianity, however, I still love this band.
Our war is not against flesh and blood but the evil spirits that seek to destroy us through temptation...the sentiment of this song should be interpreted as battling against the evil forces of the spirit world, not people. We are all sinners and only through Gods' mercy and Christ's sacrifice are we saved. Awesome song on all accounts, may it serve as inspiration for us all to keep fighting the good fight!
Actually crusaders are not true christians. Christ told us "do not kill" and they killed a thousands of people in ATTACK not DEFENSE, so dont be proud of crusaders, Christ gave us example how we should behave and they did all opposite. Anyway i like their armor so much

The problem is the crusaders didn't fight in the name of the Lord, they fought in the name of themselves.
@IIBloodXLustII "Those shall not kill" become "Do not kill". To fight in war i think its sin because you killed other child of God. And if you dont fight, you and your people will be in slavery. So fighting and killing in defense is ok but if you kill a man (even in defense) i think you must pray Lord for forgiveness you whole life and even then you are not worth His forgiveness but because He is love he will forgive. Live in Him my brother ;)
I disagree. There is nothing to be forgiven if you take another mans life for a just reason. The Ten Commandments were mistranslated into English, because in Hebrew the commandment reads "You will not murder". Murder is obviously different than killing in defense, or even attack, which God commanded many times to be done.

I think it goes deeper than that, truthfully, I don't think we Christians have fully accepted the things that have been done (both good and bad) in the name of our faith. Bands like this force us to confront these issues and to realize one very important thing, whether you are pagan, satanist, hindu, muslim etc... you are humans, and our brothers and sisters, and we should treat you like it, that being said, you also cant expect us to be door mats either.

It's viking Unblack metal if you ask me.. The main thing between unblack and black metal is that the lyrics in black metal are usually anti-christian or even satanic orientated... I know that at least 1 of the members( don't know about the others) Actually goes to a church, thus Christian. So I'd sooner say: Christian orientated lyrics if you ask me.

You have a very valid point. But think about this, knights in armor present a very good visualization of the scripture that speaks of putting on the full armor of God. And a soldier does have an iron blade, and it is called The Bible.
