I've had to fight through my share of shrinks pushing CBT and ECT, toting the Simon/Wessely bible and backed by insurance companies, Canadian physicians are heavily influenced by those in the UK... we have a few good people fighting them off, and I've heard of a few over there, and in the US too; scientific data is growing and those evil powers will dwindle

...whoops, I've had this little nagging in the back of my mind and I've spotted the mistake, GET (graded exercise therapy) not ECT (electroshock therapy?)... CBT is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

That's cognitive dysfunction for you. That's what happens when one has glutamatergic micro-seizures every few seconds (you know, the thing that causes problems with attention, focus, long term potentiation of memory [i.e., short term memory problems,] the startle reflex dysfunction, the alpha/delta wave sleep dysfunction, etc.) This is how even geniuses can become "stupid" in a functional sense.
