Ppl totally 4got that he has a big sense of humor so most of the movie is silly!only does it get dramatic @the end. It's in black&white and Jerome Benton is in it a hardcore fan would like it! :)
@snotrocket55-the best thing about Grafitti Bridge is that it's filled w/music with Mavis Staple,Tevin Campbell,Morris Day &the Time,&GeogeClinton!music he wrote! The undertone was about good vs evil the lovestory was secondary so if 1 ignores that they can enjoy it for the music &the acts :)
Okay, I saw this movie fives times back in 1990. With age comes wisdom; I would've only seen it once if I were the age I am now back then. Prince, as always, looks great and sexy. The song is okay, but the movie was way worst. I"ll give a 10 to Prince's look in this clip, a 6 for the song and a 1 for the movie.
This Hendrix-sampling version is pretty good but if you can get your hands on the OG version from 1980, you're in a whole new realm of awesome. I'll upload it if people want it. Holla.
@tripleogstarflu i agree the 1981 version of tick tick bang is far superior, as are the 86 versions of can't stop and we can funk. at least he had the good sense not to re record joy in repetition. the question of u was another oldie recorded during the parade sessions. in fact most of the graffiti bridge album contains old songs either completely re recorded or slightly updated.

@keyboy95 To be entirely fair, it really ISN'T a good movie. This performance, along with the Elephants and Flowers one, are really what MAKE the movie. Barring those, the movie really isn't good for anything other than ogling Prince and Ingrid Chavez.

@girraud You're not alone in your negative assessment of Graffiti Bridge; plenty of people walked out of the movie theater, 30 minutes into the show!
The soundtrack was decent, but the movie was worse than a Tyler Perry play in terms of production, storyline, and plot.
I think a lot of people were looking for the same magic that propelled Purple Rain, and it just wasn't there.
