The survivors crash into a yard as shown in the DLC campaign, "Crash Course". Francis and Zoey make frequent references to what happened to the pilot. Also, the whole campaign starts off right next to the burning wreckage of the chopper.

Valve is releasing a new campaign called "Crash Course." It takes place after the helicopter crashes and bridges "No Mercy" and "Death Toll." It's apparently going to be much shorter then the other campaigns, but much for intense and compact.

in the last senario the last stand with the words it doesn't end well under it takes place in survival mode and no one wins survival mode alive most think that all the survivers died at last stand in the lighthouse tho this wasn't canon as there is no original story to left 4 dead

If the original Survivors died because of the helicopter pilot got infected, that does explain why there are 4 new characters in Left 4 Dead 2. But at least it makes for more interesting game play, though I wish Valve kept the original Survivors..

Maybe they'll use the sound files for Crash Course. But aperantly the Pilot didn't die because he was infected. Zoey shot him in panic, killing him making the plane crash.

Actually no there's a whole game play between those periods.During the new game play CRASH there helicopter crashes into a town.but at the end a armored vehicle comes and rescues them then they come back to death toll.

I don't like their replacement ending, in supposed cutscene you actually end up in Death Toll, building up a more story-like game.

In the Director's Commentary, it is revealed that there was meant to be an ending cutscene after they got on the helicopter. The pilot was meant to complain about how he was attacked while saving another group of people. Afterwords he would have died from the infection, the helicopter crashing into the highway which is the beginning of Death Toll. Valve thought that this left players with an unsatisfactory ending to the campaign. The sound files are still present in the sounds folder.

Hmm, imo they shoulda kept it there. Me and my friends were kinda wondering wth was with the random locations, and if there were any connections or links to them. Well, the game's still new so they could add it if they wanted to. It's good anyways, tho. I <3 my L4D

Yeah, maybe they should've but only if they actually had a plot. Actually all the maps were originally linked together but they went another way. I also <3 My L4D.
