I also owned an Altima Hybrid, got it when it first came out, so its well over 2yrs old and over 36XXXmiles. Love it, love it. Wouldn't trade for a thing. Do not listen to Nissan, read ur manuals, and just do oil changes for now, Some dealers want u to service/flush the transmission at 30K miles, however that only applies to regular CVT and not HybridCVT, Which recommends a drain & replacement fluid at 60k miles. So don't be fooled by Scumbags at ur dealership. PS, I get 45mpg driving max 55mph.

the exterior has a very sporty looking

If you're ever up north more near Sacremento, I found some great deals on the 2009 Nissan Altima Hybrid at Nissan of Sacremento.. They've got them selling for around the same price as the normal Altima's!!! After the federal rebate, you only end up paying around $21K total!!! A great deal and some really nice people there. I definitely recommend going there if you're interested in getting an Altima and you're around NorCal!

Avis gave me this as a rental car. It was new and I was the first driver. I drove it from San Francisco to Vacaville and back again. Frankly, I was not impressed. I only got 31mpg and I didn't like the way it switched from electric to gas. The acceleration was anemic and in traffic it kept switching the gas engine on/off. Personally I would prefer an all electric hybrid if I could find one for a reasonable price.
