Incubus is such a great band. I Have met a few famous people and Brandon was by far the nicest most down to earth person. And he really cares about the environment and the power we all have to live a more sustainable existence.

Yes, I have. I think it's more similar in the sense that it is more agressive music. A lot harder edged with some songs. Where Morning View and Make Yourself was mainly a completely different, more mellow style. Make Yourself barely had any funk element and was basically just alt rock. Morning View was mellow with heavy Koto influence. Both of which are VERY different from agressive funk rock.

What most Incubus fans love most about Incubus is that their album DON'T sound exactly the same. And this song is really close to their REALLY early albums. It's Make Yourself that stands out from their early stuff.
McSuzie, I really agree with you. I personally thing Morning View was them at their absolute best. Echo, Are You In, Aqueous Transmission... just a few of their best, and I'm not even digging into Make Yourself either. Anyway a few songs of this album were good, but I didn't find any particular track that gave me the same feel of the old incubus that I love.
I hope you are not trying to imply that I just started listening to Incubus on this album, because you would be sadly mistaken. I have been listening to Incubus for around 7 years.. I'm not saying their earlier stuff wasn't incredible, but this newer stuff is just amazing.. I get what you were saying about their older stuff and how they had an extremely unique sound, but this album is unique as well. In their next album I'm sure they will have a different sound, thats what I love about them.
What don't you like about it? In my opinion this album is their best. I love how they change their music in every album, it shows how diverse and truly talented a band is.. Brandon Boyd is an amazing vocalist and all around musician, he does bongos in live solo's, he can play the guitar, and he is the greatest singer that has ever graced this earth, and always will be. Mike is a pretty bad ass guitarist too, and the DJ brings a cool sound to their thing as well. All around great band..
I saw the Light Grenades tour at HiFi Buys Amphitheater in ATL... Kick ass show! Production was awesome and the boys played a flawless show as usual. Kudos to Incubus, one of the best bands of my time. Age 25

Don't get me wrong, I love this song and like AKTSUO, Anna Molly, Rogues, Pendulous Threads, and Paper Shoes, but they can't, don't, and won't compare to classics like ACSOG, Deep Inside, Vitamin, Under My Umbrella, When it Comes, The Warmth, ect ect...

I don't agree with that at all.. They went more pop and sellout after S.C.I.E.N.C.E, that album was the end of Incubus for me. Fungus amongus, Enjoy Incubus and Science is from the time when Incubus was great... Now they're just... pop...
Incubus is far from being a pop sellout. For one, sell out means nothing anymore. No one uses it right. It is now just a term dipshits use when one of their favorite bands decides to evolve and experiment out of their narrow genre interests, and they can't handle it, so they pretend they are all big and bad for not evolving with them, and they spend all their time complaining and belittling everyone who likes the bands new stuff.
Incubus is evolving. They are changing. They refuse to sit around and copy themselves. They could choose to sit around and regurgitate the same sound, or they could experiment. Incubus is one of the most experimental bands to go multiplatinum.
When their music starts using simple chords and melodies, lyrics about money and fucking, videos with nothing but naked women, and when they start becoming indistinguishable from every other wannabe out there, then I will agree that they have sold out.

Hell, you can say the same about Dig, Oil and Water, Earth to Bella, Love Hurts...a good half the album probably. Even ACLOTM and Morning View had a few songs a bit too mainstream for me (coming from a band who had an entire album whose message promoted originality and not bowing down or caving into what is easy).

The thing that separates Incubus from the rest of the pop sell outs is that this song actually has a deep meaning and lyrics that actually say something where as most other bands weep and sob about there ex-girlfriends or how much there lives suck.

Because its not. It lacks the creativity, passion, and energy of all their earlier work. Its much more mainstream, to the point that it feels alien and unfamiliar.
Don't get me wrong, I love this song and like AKTSUO, Anna Molly, Rogues, Pendulous Threads, and Paper Shoes, but they can't, don't, and won't compare to classics like ACSOG, Deep Inside, Vitamin, Under My Umbrella, When it Comes, The Warmth, ect ect...

I also love the Japanese A Side "Look Alive" and Rogues a lot

I found the vid to anna molly on a trailer for a game lol. Took me hours to find out who sung it. Look Alive is a quality song aswell, the DVD is awesome:)

I don't agree with that at all.. They went more pop and sellout after S.C.I.E.N.C.E, that album was the end of Incubus for me. Fungus amongus, Enjoy Incubus and Science is from the time when Incubus was great... Now they're just... pop...

Incubus is far from being a pop sellout. For one, sell out means nothing anymore. No one uses it right. It is now just a term dipshits use when one of their favorite bands decides to evolve and experiment out of their narrow genre interests, and they can't handle it, so they pretend they are all big and bad for not evolving with them, and they spend all their time complaining and belittling everyone who likes the bands new stuff.

Incubus is evolving. They are changing. They refuse to sit around and copy themselves. They could choose to sit around and regurgitate the same sound, or they could experiment. Incubus is one of the most experimental bands to go multiplatinum.
When their music starts using simple chords and melodies, lyrics about money and fucking, videos with nothing but naked women, and when they start becoming indistinguishable from every other wannabe out there, then I will agree that they have sold out.

Listen to "Diamonds and Coal". Tell me how they're 'experimenting' with a song as pathetically generic and unoriginal as that one.
Hell, you can say the same about Dig, Oil and Water, Earth to Bella, Love Hurts...a good half the album probably. Even ACLOTM and Morning View had a few songs a bit too mainstream for me (coming from a band who had an entire album whose message promoted originality and not bowing down or caving into what is easy).
