just amazing, love love Emmylou ~ even w the vocal cutting in and out, her instrument is beyond "human" recording devices. to see and hear her in person, live down front and in the pit, what an experience... i'll never forget u emmylou. i too would love to have this played when its my turn to go.
Last summer, some friends of his played "All My Tears" at my friend Bill's memorial service. I was one of the people in the crowd who could sing along because of Emmylou. I felt like I had helium in my chest and was being lifted.
I could not say enough about this in my prior post. Just wanted to add; Emmylou without a doubt is singing as if "she" herself is "in the moment" of passing from this life unto the next. And seeing and hearing her take her dying breath........... you feel your heart drop. Check it out starting at 3:56 And it's a beautiful last breath, because it's her first breath in Heaven.
This is a Spiritually Powerful song. The way Emmylou sings about; "One's Passing." It strongly tugs my heart. Romans 8:26 "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." Notice also when she fades out her words, she is speaking of temporal things i.e.: sun & moon. When her words become audible, she is speaking of the everlasting, i.e. "Jesus Face" : )
Just saw her 2 nights ago. It wasnt as good as Buddy and Spyboy but still beyond most else youll see. She is a legend. Thanks this is a killer version
I recently found this cd in a secondhand shop. After hearing this song, I thought the same thing. I would like this to play at my funeral. How perfect. More or less a celebration.
Nice to see this new clip of Emmylou and Spyboy, shame the lighting director had the day off when this was filmed, or is it considered artistic to film in the dark. Thanks for posting. Ally.
