  • Beth Orton, is one of those few people who can carry whatever style is thrown at her 'cause her voice is so unique.

  • I really like this song, and Beth Orton in general...but man, she can not dance.

  • makes me wanna go skydiving!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • @vicious6667 lol yeah when I was a teenager I always imagined asking if I could listen to this as I did a skydive.

  • @RelaxItsJustAFlare prolly could if you had earbuds inside a helmet.... theyd have to be cranked up high cuz it gets LOUD in freefall! lol

  • 90's electronica was the friggin' best!!

  • This is by William Orbit, only the vocal is Beth.

  • intoxicating most wonderous music !!! it shoots me out Past Alpha Centuari!!

I love this This is Dope without the Dope!! Haunting Lovely Unique....Don't ever stop' William Orbit'

  • May be a year-old comment, but it should be noted that Beth Orton and William Orbit co-wrote this song, and it's Beth Orton's voice in the song.

  • William Orbit is the artist and the remix is by Spooky.

  • @anantakd Not as far as I know fella

  • yep, this title needs to be changed to William Orbit- water from a vine leaf featuring Beth Orton.

  • you motherfucker!!! Give Orbit some props you fucking ass bandit.

  • What about a Credit for William Orbit?

    Why it isn't there?

  • This is William Orbit's track. Why is Beth Orton being credited? She sang a simple loop that's used only in the last minutes of a 7 minute track.

  • spiritual! love it!

  • Its William Orbit whom she was dating at the time..he asked her to do the vocals and was surprised she sang as well as she did and her career was off...

  • It's nice to know that there's people out there enjoying this as much as I do

  • anyone konws where i can find the full version? because i know it's a little bit longer than 7 min

  • @rizo511 try piratebay.

  • anyone knows where i can find this track in full version? i know it's longer than 7 min

  • I absolutely love this song. Such power! but yet so calm!

  • This video is a feeling..... there's no other way I can describe it.

Ever-changing and wonderful - but more! Love it. thank you!

  • Ha.. William Orbit! :-D

  • Ha Ha...William for ever!!!

  • Happy Diwali everyone.

  • it takes two to make a thing go right so shut up stop being so anal and enjoy !

  • I would't say he "hired" her—they formed a group called Spill a couple of years before Strange Cargo 3 came out, but only released one single under that name; the album they recorded together was eventually issued as Orton's Japan-only debut Superpinkymandy. Point being their work together wasn't just her coming in to do W0's bidding.

  • lol at use of the word, "hoot"

  • I was at school with Beth Orton and she was a hoot

  • And FYI, if anyone is fortunate to own the original vinyl 12" of this track, the Underwater mix by Underworld is theee sickest. It's the only mix I always played out in the early to mid 90's. It's too bad it was only released on limited vinyl, as far as I know.

  • Beth Orton ???

As far as I know this is William Orbit's tune...

Please mention his name, because it's the musician whi deserves a credit, not the youtube user!!!

  • William Orbit wrote this and hired her to speak the lines on it. While recording, she started singing some of the lines instead.

  • Anyone remember KTCL 93.3 the ADVENTURE

in DENVER CO. ? THATS where I heard it the 1st time,

Tangerine Dream 's sound had just gone seriously down

south and thought somebodies finally gotten IT!!!! WAYTA GO WILLIAM!!! wait 4 ....oracle.....

  • X Wife used to dance nude to this for me.

  • I'm undecided if that's too much information or not enough! YouTubers, you decide ...

  • & me!

  • mmmm this tune makes me realize that life is just a journey...with no need of yesterday or today...

  • Absolute classic , heard this on a compilation cd mid 90's and went out next day and bought strange cargo 1 , 2 , and 3 , love it !!

  • MEZMERIZING and HYPNOTIC!!! LOVE the journey!!

  • very nice reverb on the piano wow its huge that reverbe its so soothing

  • The e-trip mention is interesting, because theres a definite string-torch-dance motif to one of the effects going on behind beth in the video. This song is good to walk while listening to at night.

  • I think the video could have been better. At least to reduce repetition. Love the composition though, can't say more.

  • First heard this on the Saha and Digweed 'Northern Exposure' mix and its still just as brilliant now as it was then .

  • This is a perfect example of why William Orbit is simply brilliant!

  • I love William Orbit!!! This song is like an "E" trip... only without actually taking any "E". this song lets your mind free...................ENJOY!!!! Thanks for posting great musicians that get very little recognition !!!!

    PEACE !!!!!!!

  • Acid

  • I think you mean to say you enjoy the William Orbit/Strange Cargo remix. This song is by Beth Orton.

  • FYI, this IS a William Orbit track. It is off the album titled Strange Cargo 3, one of a series of albums by William Orbit with the same title. Not a "band" named Strange Cargo as inferred, and not a Beth Orton song as inferred.

William Orbit has produced some of the greatest electronic artists for several decades including Madonna and Nitzer Ebb, and featured many talents on his personal behalf, and under his art direction.

  • SO! it's not just me then. The soundtrack of my transmigration. Thankyou William Orbit, Beth Orton. tears of joy!!!

  • When was this song released?

  • 1993. LP-Strange Cargo 3. weird and wonderful album!!

  • BRAVOOOOO!!!!

  • FANTASTICALLY BRILLIANT!!

  • WOW !! nuffsed!

  • One of the best tracks ever recorded by anyone, ever.

  • Perfect song when I got a million thoughts in my head!!

  • Quality work an absolute monster of peace.sweet

  • This was one of my favorite smokin songs...and I love the Xylem Flow Mix too.

  • Love it!

  • how can you call water from a vine leaf boring, its an incredible composition, many things but never boring

  • Has to be some sort of joke of some kind or another.

  • Get out of town, this track is all powerful.

  • beth, marry me...

  • this song has a sacred beauty that makes me feel the power of innocence again more than feel it takes me there not an illusion it facilitates a euphoric metamorphosis and transmits a secret divinity if i could perform anything for god this would be the one alas it makes me sad i cant be there but it carries the message that that doesnt matter --- it is even hopeful
  • Probably William Orbit's finest work never knew it was Beth Orton she looks really young

  • William Orbit is so cool--then add Beth Orton and it's exponentially better than anything "pop" being played today, period.

    Nothing more, you surround me

    Break on through

    Release me. . .

  • the Xylem Flow Mix is sooo much better than this track. it's def one of Beth's and Orbit's best tracks!!! :D

  • Trippy 0_o

  • yeah beth.

  • I wish Beth would work more with orbit - they made some of the best music ever!

  • Spooky mix on northern exposure was the mistakes that shaped progressive house. Sound like a time when there was no template. God the beat is shit on this original! sounds like a bad pop tune! One last thing to blush spookies face is the fact that the bass doesnt come in till about 3-4 mins into the track. This would be the point normally that I would have kept a finger up to friends repeating "wait" over and over. The bass would drop and I would let people talk again!

  • my all time fave william orbit tune, thanks for posting!!!!!11one

  • 2 me this is old school teen tripping music

  • Probably one of my favourite Orbit's songs. Incredible.

  • I knew the song, but didn't know it had a video!! Thank you!

  • nothing more

    you surround me

    break on through

    release me

  • Great William Orbit tune!!!! Orbit rocks!

  • Very spiritual and well composed song..ive had it a few years on a compilation cd, and wondered if it would be on here..thank you,Ben.

  • wonderful!
