Nirvana = the MTV Poster boys for the grunge movement. They were right up there with Soundgarden / Stone Temple Pilots / Alice in Chains. Also, even though it's just my opinion, this was really not a "great rock classic" on any level.

5. Of the bands listed, very few had as much coverage in the US Media (thanks to MTV/VH1).
When you use "classic" and "rock" together, think more along the lines of, well.. you know.. "classic rock"
Zeppelin, Sabbath, etc. those were classic rock.
Teen Spirit isn't nearly a classic along the lines of War Pigs or Immigrant Song.
