Also I just wish to say the conception that the insanity is killed at the point of the breakdown is of your opinion only, which you are entitled to. Progressive music, namely melodic death metal is about releasing and building tension. Their song structure and transition into (and out of) their breakdowns is perfect in my opinion, as the building insanity is transformed into brutality. And in reference to my second reply, there is nothing more brutal than a well-timed, well-constructed breakdown

If this band didn't pander to the breakdown deal, they'd easily be the best death band I've ever heard. I played a show with them earlier this summer, all of them are fucking nuts at their instruments. They put on a great show. If you guys read this, kill the break downs.

@DeflocculatedDentist breakdowns aren't inherently bad. If you think so you are probably retarded. They are very risky i.e. they can ruin a song (like 99% of breakdowns that have ever existed). Since Wretched are too awesome for that kind of shit, their breakdowns are within the 1% margin. Thus, Wretched's breakdowns > all

This is for the sole reason that making breakdowns is fucking impossible without it sounding like every one that has ever been made, unless you use progressive time signatures that end up making absolutely no sense by the time you're done writing it. Like I said before, its risky. That Wretched can not only create breakdowns worthy of listening at all is a feat, nevermind them reinventing it which they seem to do every song.

If you don't have talent it's not gimicky, it's just terrible musicianship. These guys are incredible, so in their case I cant see how it logically isnt.
