The reason why full flaps is not deployed is full flaps adds a lot of drag, which slows the climb. 15 degrees is the flap setting for take off on a 777.

the reason the flaps arnt fully extended is because the pilot wants max lift with max speed full flap setting do not do this altho he would climb fast the speed wont be there like they need

Besides...full flaps slow the aircraft. That's why when a plane lands, they're extended, to slow down the plane.

At the speed that a plane moves during takeoff, may spoil the flaps if full. WHich is why during flying and approach the pilot never deploys full flaps fully, but incrementally

Maybe a stupid question but are there any empty seats on international flights besides this trip? I imagine the seats are booked way in advance and any no shows get taken at last minute.

Usually most flights I've flown on are full or nearly full (I've flown over 50 flights and only around 4 of them I enjoyed an empty seat next to me). Even during low season, they were still more than half full. But the period of SARS really struck airlines hard.
