@derfejdag I wouldn't do it for fun at any cost. Your talking about a chemical here that is used for all types of things from killing, to fertilizer. But running through it I don't really see it as causing to much harm.

You can also make one with epsom salt and sugar.....Which are easily accessible at grocery stores. I think its a 1:1 Ratio, slowly cook it over a stove...really low. Then throw in a bunch of match heads once its fully mixed and is cooling (not while on the stove or you'll set it off in your house). The match heads are used to ignite the substance. I did this when I was about twelve. Was wicked...

@VinnieDain424 Ammonium is poison and the vapors are toxic. Ammonium gas alone can kill people and cause them to pass out in 10 seconds and die.

@xajisG9 yes, mix a 2:3 weight ratio of potassium nitrate and sugar(icing sugar or other fine sugars are best, but regular table sugar will work too, just not as well).

put it in a suitable container, like a toilet paper tube sealed by compressed tissue paper and other end open and light.

for better results, dissolve the stump remover in water and filter it through a coffee filter(use a funnel, it's easier then just coffee filter), then let the water evaporate in the sun, it'll clean it.

@Dreger117 Yes, the fire will go out and it will just smoke, however it is very HOT! So some flames may crop up every few seconds.

Hi, i'm hoping to make a KNO3/NaNO3 and Sugar rocket, approx 1kg so about 1ft long. I'm also hoping to attach two small pipes onto the side with newspaper inside of the 2 pipes (like this). The pipes will be secured and have metal 'lids' soldered onto them. At the bottom, there is a hole for smoke to escape, approx 5mm. Will it work at that speed and pressure when enclosed within the pipes? Thanks.

@hhs786 I'm studying Construction Engineering, but sadly not Aerospace Engineering. It is a very fast burning combustion, which is good for a rocket. If it is steel pipe I would assume you would be fine, I wouldnt use aluminum and am not responsible for any advise I'm giving you now. But reply to this video with yours if you make one.

Dissolve AN in water and soak sheets of newspaper in the solution. Then sun dry the papers until completely dry. Tightly roll the papers taping them down and light one end.

Pretty much. dissolve the ANO3 and soak the paper in it. Then let the paper dry in the sun, it will take a while. Wait until it is very dry, this one would have probably been bigger if I let it dry longer. Roll up the paper and either tape or tie it together.

it's pretty much pure with a bit of binder in it (i think) if you want the binder out, dissolve it in water and evaporate all the water back out

I used about 3/4 of a sunday paper for that one. Also, try wrapping the paper around something like a wooden dowel or arrow. This will leave a void making the smoke pour out faster. I also wrapped it in aluminium foil, just to help hold the bomb together. Also, make sure you dissolved enough ammonium nitrate in your water. Hope that helps.
