  • I've had them since I was like 8

  • I'm almost 22 and I have these questions now. (:

  • Dealing with people leaving being different and trying to find people who'll accept me like this has been a pain while growing up. Getting better though.

  • Hey Bridie is in a video! I thought she didn't like being in your videos because it is "embarrassing"

  • Add skipper ;) 00:00

  • Bridie is such beautiful girl! :)

  • Woah! Bridie looks so different now to when she was in some of your earlier videos & videos with Charlie.

  • 0:09 lol

  • I always have growing pains in my legs, i've had it for a few months now and it's making it hard to walk and run.

  • I suppose trying to figure out where life is taking me is a bit of a growing pain. It feels sometimes like the boots I will wear one day - owning a house, having a job, raising a family - are much, much too big, but I hope that I will grow over time with experience and time to fill them.

  • I love your videos. But sometimes it seems like you are reading from a script. Maybe you could try without a scipt sometimes? :)

  • @luhlwot and like i said before you bore the shit out of me !!!!!!

  • I love you and all of your videos! (:

  • you are sooooo boaring

  • @jommerville Why are you watching her then? Don't like her, don't watch her. Simple. Thank you and goodbye.

  • @jommerville You didn't have to watch this... It'd be interesting to know what your pains have been while growing up.

  • my growing pains are worrying about the future, I have no idea what I want to do when I finish eduction which scares me a lot. both my brothers seem to know exactly why they are doing and have known since they were little. I just have random options not even mildly related..

also boy issues, I am getting to the age where all my friends are getting boyfriends all loved up and happy. and then there's me.

  • my growing pains are that im almost through university and have matured quite a bit. but a lot of my "friends" still act like immature teenagers to the point that sometimes i dont really feel like hanging out with them. Quite lonely at times..

  • i love the way you say 'parents' your soooo coool your whole family iss soooo cooool :D I'm soo jealous

  • yeah definately, all these worries throughout youth really affected me too, and especially the choices that we make... great video hunny xx

  • i always used to assume that i would end up living in a flat with my best friend, find the perfect person and eventually live with them get married have kids and have a wonderful life but as ive grown up ive realised that in orderto get something like that i have to try hard it it may not work out that way in the end so i have to prepare myself for these things not to happen so smoothly.

  • Definitely wanting to grow up too fast, but being worried about doing so. So making sure to live childhood as much as you can and not grow up too fast, despite wanting too. Finding a balance I guess you could say.

  • you make lovely videos! you're awesome! very very nice woman :) I'm going to subscribe after i watch the rest of this video!

  • My growing pain atm is suddenly realizing that I have nothing in common anymore with the people I've been friends with for the past 5 years...

  • @JustAnotherPaperFace true that

  • just had growing pains last night woke me up at 3 in the morning

  • We all experience what Bridie is going though. Bless.

Life not quite turning out as I expect if different something i can relate to!!

    Miss you Linz <3

  • I get compared to my siblings all the time! I hate it when i'm worried about work or something because I always get "well your sister did it" I AM NOT MY SISTER!

Bridie shoul so do like a beauty channel!!! I was like wow!!! :D

  • i found the most uncomfortable part of growing older was developing my own ideas and opinions. not that it was in anyway a bad thing, just that at the time i personally found it super difficult to relay them in any sort of understandable fashion without getting really worked up about it.

  • your voice is so relaxing!

  • Thank you so much for making these videos, they really do help (:. I'm almost 15, and everyone knows me as 'that weird girl'. Just being myself and enjoying it.

  • I agree with Bridie. Since I was 8 I wanted to be older. I looked at how fun it seemed to be 20 years old and how mature and beautiful all the girls that age were. Now that I'm here I know that my time wishing to be older wasn't wasted. Being 20 is amazing and I absolutely love all the trials and fun times that come along with it! It's the best time of life (at least for me so far)!

  • Lovely video, Lindsay. It's so true that these pains don't go away as you get older. The difference is that our failures, successes and general experiences as we mature help make us better equipped to deal with these things when they arise as adults :)

  • I feel as though you can see into my brain! I'm 16 and get my GCSE results in three days, I feel all of the things you raised in the video.

You can definitely tell you're a primary school teacher in your tone of voice, although you've definitely loosened up a bit since you started making videos.

  • You're a wonderful woman :)

  • Sorry, Definition of 'growning pains',thanks, sorry about the typing error :)

  • Would you mind giving your defination of growing pains, thanks :) Maybe that could be another video.

  • I love that you always give a different perspective on things! <3

  • @liliesarelike I really enjoy your videos! I love how generous you are! Charlie's channel is also brilliant! Bye :)

  • 1:09 big time!

  • @americandiamond101 agreed, they really do.

  • I love your videos. They really help.

  • My life really hasn't gone the way the I had predicted, but it's just as good this way round :) I have a twin sister who, when you compare us in certain ways, is a lot more successful than me. But I just remember that I may not be as good as her in some respects, I will be successful in my own way. And my friends and family love us both for who we are. No matter how our lives turn out :)

  • @jbdazen ikr!! I HATE IT!! I hate it when our teachers still talk to us like that

  • I LOVE YOUR GLADIOLI. DO NOT APOLOGIZE FOR IT.

  • @patton0008 She actually apologized for them not have bloomed. :D I liked that, I was also going to write the same as you before I saw the second part of the sentence. I also love your gladioli, Lindsay!

  • I can't be myself with anyone. That's the best. :3

  • Sweet video :] I know teens who come from families with strong religious faith. It seems to help them greatly, because they have faith in the future and a belief that they are unconditionally loved by their creator. There is so much wisdom in the world's religious texts. In my experience, such wisdom could help teens to understand themselves and their place in the world.

  • Yeah, what Bridie says. I think I was about 12,13, when the veil of childhood seemed to lift and I felt ready to engage in adult conversations. They just regarded me as a little know-it-all, though. Very annoying. That taught me to treat kids as full human beings, not some sort of cute halflings.

  • @jbdazen Agreed! I try my best to talk to kids almost like I talk to adults, especially since they might have something really interesting or insightful to say. I feel as though I can't afford to miss out on quality thinking, no matter where it comes from.

  • great video

  • I've never had bad results in any exam before, i mean not any exam that mattered, I'm not an A* student but I've always got what I wanted. I got my AS results back the other day and I've realised I'm going to have to re-evaluate the time I spend on school work and probably have to drop some of the other things that are important to me, that's a really suckish part of growing up - realising you can't always do everything you want to! :/

  • I remember breaking down and crying a few times when I was just about to finish university and move really, really far from home for the first step in my career. I'd never felt so completely inadequate before. Now things are fine, but some big steps are horribly jarring.

  • Thank you for making me worry about the future thanks-_____-

  • All the things you mentioned are things I relate to and dont like to think about (esp. Leaving friends, the future (although that thought is exciting at times, that feeling is usually overshadowed by being scared)

    Thanks for the video :)

  • having so much homeork when u want to go out and do things with ur friendsbut u dont have time -_- thats my life

  • i love your shirt :)

  • I think a lot of wher you mentioned in this video is what some people are really talking about when they hit their early 20s and worry about becoming "Old" Its not age that worries them its the responsablities and expectations of having reached a certain age that worries them. Its never been a big problem for me but I'm not immune to those feelings. Thanks for the video, thought provoking as ever.

  • growing up is hard at times but family and friends are always there to help :)

  • I love when you talk because your voice just sounds so nurturing and lovely. I love your videos, thank you! <3

  • I thought the flowers were symbolic for growing pains... cause they are sort of growing... no?

  • The she talks is very poetry slam. Oh and I read novels in highschool about these kibd of things they helped a lot.

  • Who names their kid Pixel?

  • I used to have really awful physical growing pains as I grew up, as well as the emotional growing pains. So many of the things said in this video relate to me as I grew up from child to teen and now into my twenties (though I'm only 20). Thank you for this!

  • @beatrixNemesis OMG! I was thinking that she looked like J.K. Rowling too! You're awesome lily!

  • As for your question, I have absolutely no idea. I'm really scared to start high school and become an adult. I think my parents being so supportive and caring really helps, though.

  • I like you. You remind me of J.K. Rowling.

  • @BeatrixNemesis Exactly!

  • @BeatrixNemesis haha so true i thought i was the only one who thinks so! :D

  • I thought the tittle said Growing penis...

  • I find fitting in with people harder as I grow up, teenage life can be a stressful time but we all get through it some way or another :)

  • Bridie doesn't need that much makeup(: she's pretty on her own!

  • the hardest thing about growing up is when you realize that being an adult is not even close as good as you had always imagined it to be...

  • Comment removed

  • I could walk at 8 months old

  • I'm in my last year at high school and I'm struggling with trying to do well enough to get into art school

  • Yh i have the opposite problem Bridie..I don't want to grow up!!I'm 13 and I don't want to become an adult i just want to stay a child forever...

  • I find it hard... when....

You feel self consiace if u feel ur in a room with people u think are prettier or what ever around u...

Or being over shadowed by my brother

  • Another interesting video x

  • The hardest part about growing up is when you suddenly realize that you're an adult and can't get away with the dumb things you used to be able to do as easily. And that you have to start really applying yourself to school and learning to drive and looking for colleges and filling out applications. (Can you tell what I've spent my summer doing?)

  • Bridie should definitely make a fashion/beauty channel!

  • @HelloHiLove YES!! She totally should! I love her style c:

  • @HelloHiLove I've said this for a year!

  • I loved to see my babies learning to crawl and walk. So those cute babies in your video made me smile. I do think though that babies have it easier than teenagers, because they don't feel embarrassed in the least when they fall on their faces.

  • Sorry posted my infinished comment by mistake: especially the peuple in poor countries like Africa. The world needs more people like you.

  • You are such a lovely person, it's so amazing how kind you are, the way you do everything you can to help people, especially

  • Lindsay, I kinda feel like you're the mother of YouTube. Love your videos :)

  • This video couldn't have come at a better time; I'm going off to college in four days, and this week has been hell as far as saying goodbye to friends and such. I'm not so much nervous for the next four years, though, as I am the years that'll come after them; getting a real job, my own apartment, etc. I feel like the same child I've been for 18 years thrown into the world of adulthood :p

So thank you for making me realize it's normal to feel anxious, but that the world will go on. :)

  • She reminds me oof J K Rowling :')

  • Lilies are like what?

  • My parents are very strict... I don't drink alcohol, I never go out with my friends, I hate parties and I'm one of the best students in my school but when I get a bad grade they are really harsh and make me cry a lot. They think it's unacceptable the fact that I'm not perfect....

  • A growing pain for some people would be understanding their sexuality, before I met some people I was really confused but now I'm fine

  • I think life is just one long adventure they are bad time and good times.

  • LOL your gladiole looks fine! :)

I really like your hair too.

    And you're cool. :)

  • i've never had growing pains.....i've never grown, i'm 16 and i'm 5ft :L

  • did I miss something? where was Bridie in this video?

    and nice video :)

  • @unreasonablyawkward at the end x)

  • I always had trouble feeling like I was fitting in when I was growing up (especially in my teen years and even sometimes today) also I was a but worrier and thought constantly about my future and whether or not it would all work out

  • *feel, wow im bad at spelling :/

  • I think think the hardest for me, so far, is the thinking about my immediate future: How am I going to get a job? A house? Do things on my own...It seems so easy for other people, but I know it isn't all that easy.

  • i fell the same as Bridie, being the same age as her i cant wait to get older but people like my parents are always saying things like "believe me you say that now but when you do get older you will want to be the age you are now again" and i dont think i would wanna be this age again really i mean its such a rubbish age! :L but at the same time i get where they are coming from

  • You really remind me of a friend of mine. It's the way you talk <3

  • And yes, being college-age especially, I think there are a lot of big life decisions to make about your career and it can be pretty stressful and overwhelming at times, but it can also be loads of fun doing spontaneous things with college friends. I think as you get older, and get a bit more experience, you gain some perspective, and recognize that life will always be a bit of a roller coaster, so you should get used to that and learn to handle it better.

  • As I've gotten a little bit older (I'm 20,) it has been interesting for me to see things from a parent's perspective sometimes, and how a child might struggle with some situation, the parent is also dealing with the stress of that too, as well as trying to help their kids out with that situation. We do expect our parents to act more mature and handle things better than we do as young adults, and take initiative, but when they disappoint us, we have to believe they are doing their best.

  • Always enjoy your little life lesson videos..thanks for sharing! :)

  • I trick about growing up is that you don't recognize or appreciate all of the moments that make you become your older self until you're a little bit older.

  • Bridie is sooo cool.

  • Yeah, I can definitely relate to the part about trying to be myself. It feels like everyone is so judgmental, especially in a small town, and I'm scared I might make a wrong move or say something controversial.

Sometimes I feel like I have to choose between having friends or being the real me.

  • @AligatormonkeyYAY sometimes I feel that way too.

  • Bridie is adorable, but she wears WAY too much makeup for her age and occasion. lol

  • oh my Bridie has really grown up. Lovely video Lindsey :)

  • all very well saying we want bridie to have a youtube channel but we were just talking about being overshadowed by siblings, imagine trying to follow charlieissocoollike

  • i wanted to submit a comment with my thoghts about growing pains..but it turned out to be TOO long..so i sent it as a message...this leads me to a question..do you read all of your messages? :)

  • I think as a teenager it's important to have people like you addressing the fact that growing up can be really difficult sometimes, but everyone goes through it.

  • Speaking of growing up... I've had fun watching your channel grow up. Good from the start, but in so many subtle ways getting better all the time.

  • A thing about growing up as a teenager in secondary school is all of the school work! It's getting harder and harder and it's terrifying to think I've got all my A levels next year, GCSEs were hard enough! :'D but if you always look on the bright side of things and see them as challenges rather than work, then they don't seem so bad :}

    <3

  • Growing Old(er) Is Mandatory – Growing Up Is (rather!) Optional :-/

  • i wish i had growing pains, like physically cuz i'm just gonna stay short forever

  • Hey Lindsay! Loved the video and the way you've been running the channel since its inception. I see where Charlie gets that ability to express thoughts from.

In summation of all I have to say about this video, I think falling nine times and rising ten is an important part of learning to live, just as crawling and walking are.

Thanks for your time, and keep up the videos!

  • you look great lilly. I like your positive energy that you always have. I had pretty miserable school life and still some stuffs going on. issues that i dealt with was pretty big. and unfortunately, some of them are still going on. but what you gonna do. you gotta make the best of whatever we got. right?

  • I love this! You are so sweet.

  • that was bullshit

  • What a timely video-especially now with teenagers going off to college. It's a scary and exciting time for both kids and parents!

  • i want you to be my mother!!!

  • Aw bridie is so pretty:)

  • for all you people having growing pains

yeah it hurts but atleast you grow

i'll never be taller then 1 meter 60 maybe even less :(

  • @thedudsonette you just gotta embrace your shortness! it's not a bad thing :))

  • @HeliSarianne i have but please people shouldn't complain so much

the only people the can complain are ninja's but they're to stealthy to see&hear

  • When I had a growth spurt I didn't have any pains, but when I stopped growing I noticed I had small stretch marks on my back just below my arms. I was never over weight or pregnant (I'm a guy).

I find it hard to find my place. It took me 4 years at secondary school to find a way of being comfortable with myself, then the next year I had to leave it to go to college. At University I found my place again, but graduated and employed I need to find something for myself that isn't just my job...

  • Very Inspirational Lindsay.

  • Wow, bridie is so beautiful!

  • Watching your videos is inspirational. ( think that is written right )

  • gd video! xxx ! your so caring x

  • I remember the first time I realized that my parents couldn't solve every problem in my life or even in theirs, and that they're just people who've made their own mistakes and have their own regrets :) I didn't like it, but I think I appreciated them a lot more after that and it changed the way I saw things in my own life.

  • Bridie is so beautiful. maybe she should use less make-up, but still wonderful

  • We want Bridie to have a youtube channeeel :D

  • btw, Liverpool 2-0 Arsenal.
