The rare 2007 nitro finish daphne blue highway one strat is rare for few reasons but mainly the nitro daphne blue finish. Only 1,500 of the new up graded version strats were made. The color was discontinued. 12-31- 2007
Standards today not even close. A lot of pro fender strat players today compare the rare nitro finish daphne blue 2007 fender highway one strat to a original 1968 fender strat.
The Devil!!!! The large fender head stock on the strats ran from 1967 to 1981. The 3 bolt neck plate ran from 1970 to 1980. The large head stock strat that jimi hendrix played in the 1969 wood stock fest was a 1968 usa standard. Not like the american
Nice playing. I just bought a Highway 1 and am still getting used to it. It's good to hear the tone of your guitar is similar to mine (I wish I could play as well as you though).
I love how people are trying to prove that the highway one is better than american standard. Simply it's not. Well if it's worth giving more money for a standard that's another question. You people should understand that along with pricerange changes the overall quality (wood quality for example) not only "useless" features. Companies ain't stupid. After i said this i admit that i would hardly pay more money to get an american standard. And i like the large headstock more:)
i have a highway one and i love it, i totally recommend it, but i think stratdem is a lil too into them the 2007s are also the exact same as the 2010s minus the whol daphne blue color, which i love. (mines 3 tone with maple) i like the pickups alot but i wanna get the most accurate 1954 pickups possible. any one haver any good ideas? im think seymour duncan vintage pro staggered pickups with the alinco II magnets with formvar wire. thats about as close as ive seen
ive researched these myself and found out that the 07 models are when they added the new pick-ups ,the grease bucket tone control and the jumbo frets they done this to both the tele and the strat ive played both and there is a difference not in quality but the feel and sound is a little different but both are really good now they have the american specials out now that are a little different than these they have the texas spcl pick-ups in them but are the same other than that
the highway one is crafted from the same woods the american standards are FACT! THEY ARE ALSO CRAFTED IN CORONA CALIFORNIA ANOTHER FACT THEY OUT SALE THE NEW AMERICAN STANDARD STRAT 3 TO 1. AND THE HIGHWAY ONE SSS STRAT 2007 IS ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER STRATS BY PRO PLAYERS. do your homework my friend befor you open your mouth!
Why is it every "Highway 1" video I come to there you are telling everyone The 2007s are the most sought after strat out there? There is no evidence for this other than your say so. You can usually find 2007 Highway 1's on Ebay for little over $500. Hardly the mark of "The most sought after strat." They are nice guitars but get a grip mate.
@matrags i own a highway 1 2007 and a new american strat 2009 and the highway one is clearly the winner hands down. i am selling the standard and keeping my highway 1, that sings to me like no other has.
I've tried American Standards and Highway Ones. Knew about the presale of the American Special. It's really a matter of taste, nothing more, nothing less. Got the Highway One Sunburst Mapple SSS Dec/2009. Just loved how it feels and sounds. The American Standard felt so... standard, and the pickups were too... default.
The Highway One in the other hand has a contour body with 70's headstock and jumbo frets! That's very easy and fast playing! Great bends! The Alnico III pickups impressed me with its versatility from blues to hard rock it was able to. I was thinking of putting some Texas Specials on it like the American Specials, but this Alnico's III really proved that they're definately a keeper. That was the right joice for me and my taste. That's a matter of flavor.
About the Satin Finish I can say I was worried. But then you can see that beautiful exclusive finish will age beautifuly. The American Specials are essentialy a Highway One that shines with Texas Specials. But I wanted more versatility, Alnico's III suited me perfeclly.
the highwayone is partially made in mexico hence its build quality is not as good as the american standard. but somehow it has this 'raw' feel to it and seems to resonate better to my ears, thinner coat im guessing. i myself actually prefer the hw1 over 08amstds.
The Highway 1's do not have a biflex truss rod, no S1 switch, they use Alnico 3s instead of 5's. The Tuners are lower quality and the bridge is the vintage 6 screw rather than the new 2 screw pivot. They have a thin "Nitro" finish. But the bodies are the same. The necks are slightly different. They have Jumbo Frets while the am standards have med/jumbo. While they are truly similar and comparable..the Highway ones are not like any other guitar Fender makes. Closer to Am Standard thanmex
@4theloveofdill the highway one sss strat SHITS all over the new american standard strat hands down!. the S-1 switch is somthing new fender put on the AMSTD strat two years ago. the classic old school style strats from years past did not have that useless piece of bullshit on them. the highway one sss strat is based on the old school style strats from years past with a hotter pick up the Brilliant ! Alnico III pick ups are one of the most tone superior and versatile pick ups made.
the 2007 highway one strats are some of the most sought after strats out there today PERIOD!. THE ROAD WORNS OR THE NEW AMERICAN STANDARDS dont even come close to the highway one sss strats when it come to tone versatility/sustain or that old school strat feel. the highway one one simply shits all over the american standard in every way shape and form period! end of story.real strat players dont need the usless S-1 the highway one sss strat is simply a real strat!
Oh god i want a stratocaster. Sounds much nicer than my Gibson Les Paul, as i don't play or hear much heavy music at the moment and i don't think that a Les Paul is suited for soft and mellow jazz and blues.
Should be able to buy one around christmas or so :)
I bought a Highway one for 690 euros. Than put SD pickups, wilkinson VSVG tremolo, sperzel locking tuners and new nut...I can tell you my Highway one is one of the best guitars you can get, better than a American Standard for sure!!
before the price drop the highway one sss stratocaster list for $1,130 and retail for $900/$930 they still list for $1,130 but there has been a price drop on the retail.
the highway one sss strat is tone and sustain superior over the new american standard strats and most other strats to.
the 2007 highway one sss stratocaster is one of the most sought after strats today. my advice go with the highway one sss strat you wont regret it you will regret it with the new american standard strat.
Really man 2007-2009 Highway Ones are same feel/tone. There's no such rumor about the 2007 series. All i could find was you spreding the word about the 2007 series. Nothing more. Got a Dec/2009 Sunbust/Mapple SSS. When I opened the backplate for tremolo ajusting was written with atomic pencil behind the springs "AmerSpec". Sweet hugh? All the series got its particularity, but not because you claim to have tree 2007's you can create this fantasy that they're the best in the world. Keep on Rockin!
I want to buy a Stratocaster, but I don't know what Stratocaster. I'm really interested in an American Standard, but the Highway One is also very interesting. How is the quality? Are there differences between American Standard and Highway One?? Thanks
I've heard bad things about the frets on the neck, unsmooth to play and not very fast or comfortable playing, and they do cut more corners than just the finish to get the low price.
In my video response I'm using my Highway One HSS with mesa triple rec. By the way for you people that don't know the hss is equipped with the Seymour Duncan Atomic Humbucker and Alnico III single coils. I love this guitar.
JUST RECENTLY the highway one was ruduced from $900/$930 reason being they are being discontinued. my advice if you want one get it now befor there gone.
the highway one sss strat is much better
than the new american standards. better tone versatility and sustain hands down.
Your HIghway One looks and sounds very nice. I have a RW Daphne Blue that sounds and plays great, but I am going to make some major changes. So far I've changed the white pickguard to mint green., changed the strings to a 10, and added an extra spring in the back. That is just the beginning.
the highway one sss strat has much better tone versatility and sustain than the american standard. the Alnico III pick ups in the high way one are tone superior over the new american standard.
i have a big problem , i bought a fender stratocaster highway one and i have real problems with tuning ! i cant do bends or use the whammy bar ! is every highway one like this?
I prefer a les paul, but I really think you get more guitar for the money with the H1. It's really up to the kind of music you want to play and what amp you use. I've played Epiphone Les pauls in the 6 and 7 hundred dollar range that look much better than the Gibson Studio and play just as well.
I haven't played a whole lot of Gibsons but I can tell you that the Highway One is a great guitar. The single coils give great clean sounds (that, in my opinion, the Gibson wont be able to compete with). The Highway One is great for the price!
Hey man! I'm thinking about buying a Highway Strat. Is it worth? And by the way, great play!!! Are you using a scale? If you are, I would like you to tell me what scale or mode you are using, it would be very useful to me!
Hi! It worths, I can only recommend to buy one. I just played my own scales in G, try to listen the video, it is not very difficult to play this anthems.
Holy heck you have a wonderful tone there. I am considering a highway one, how does it overdrive? (I'm not looking for metal distortion, but more like a glassy tube amp overdrive) -thanks

Stratocaster is not a heavy metal guitar. Of course you can use it with haevy distortion, but it is not it's character.
However, rock is not far from Strato. (Malmsteen for instance)
I am going to put a video in a few days, with distortion sound, you can check it.
