We have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 (1%) API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs/Injection and tank clean and rustfree!
@CommercialVehicle He's purposely revving it while the clutch is half way engaged to break the tires loose. I use to do it in my Mustang. Fun, but not good for your clutch. Im sure he can shift, hes just having fun.
Hate music in videos - Love this song though.. Reminds me of my best friend who just died to months ago - anyone knows the title?? Thanks and kudos to the GT,, Wonderful machine!!
I am 6 foot 1 and 210 and there is plenty of room for me.
If you notice over the driver there is a bump in the roof. It is called the Gurney bump because the original driver of the race car in 1966 was Dan Gurney and he was 6 ft 6 in tall
The new Superformance still has that bump.
Go to a Superformance dealer and check one out, or a car show. Thanks David
noooo not at all. you may notice when the girl gets out of the car, you can see on his side he added a bubble on his door to give him head room. you're better off buying a new model one. just as cool in my opinion and more dependable. plus you can squeeze over 1500 horses out of the new ones.
The driver (owner) has been replaced...the car has been sorted and the rich running engine corrected. The brakes updated, front canards added, and the transmission rebuilt. It now sports Nurburgring stamps....and screams.
I love how people with the cool toys cant shift for shit. "Well give her a whirl and see what she'll do" then completely lets us all down with BAD driving. Fuckin tool. The only way I get to live the GT is through shit ass videos like that.
how often do u think it get driven... mostlikey never... so yah he probably cant drive the car to its poteintal, and im sure he doesnt want to whipe it out
License by SAFIR who holds the rights to the name GT40, VIN numbers, manufacture of the cars, and replacement parts for ALL GT40-P-xxxx chassis. Parts are interchangeable with ALL cars within the MK series style. The car is titled as a 1966. Most earlier cars were built by FAV and shipped to Shelby American, Holman Moody, and FAV Europe for final assembly.
Like a bat out of Zuffenhausen I left the new Porsche Museum and factory two weeks ago. Want to compare Porsches?
Yes. They built this as almost an exact copy of the original. Scale is right. They were very small cars. Enough room for the drive train and a driver and not much more.
@phoon888 - I need to win the lotto too. But you know they say your chances of winning are like getting attacked by two different bears in the same day. LOL! So if that happens run to the store and play.
I drive a fast car...a Renntech Stage 1 E55 AMG...But this thing, well it is one of the few cars I really lust for. It really is the essence of exciting driving. Thanks
Minor correction. There was never a "Cobra Jet" 427, Yes they had Cobra valve covers on some of them but the 427 never was called that. 428, 429 and the 351 were built as CJ's and SCJ's. That term wasn't used until about 68' after these cars were hugely successful. I like seeing more of the MKII big block cars like this one.

no disrespect to ford! but that "ford gt40" is an european car! only the motor is american! yes the car was tuned by americans but it's not american! at least THE CHEVROLET CORVETTE IS ALL AMERICAN!!!!!! THE FERRARI BEATER OF TODAY! ALL AMERICAN FORM 1953 TO PRESENT.
I see a GT40 about a week ago just joining the motorway slip road, he was gunning it and it sounded like absolute thunder. i had tingly sensations going down my spine when i heard it
This guy appears to have real difficulty managing a gearshift without fluffing the throttle. I really, really want a Hi-Tech/Superformance GT40 though. I echo the comment already made about preferring one to Ford's GT. In fact, I think I'd prefer one to a Ferrari 430. Probably a Gallardo, too. A Wiesmann MF4 comes close... but not much else IMO.
Eh? The original Ford GT40 didn't have a supercharger? It's the Ford GT that's supercharged!
I'd much rather have a GT40 replica from Hi Tech Automotive than the current Ford GT or any other supercar for that matter! You can get them in the original right hand drive for the UK as well! Beautiful car guys, spot on!
By the way, Superperformance in the United States is the trading name for Hi Tech Automotive. Hi Tech are a South African company and also help make the Noble car range.
He doesn't have license plates, because he doesn't want the cops to know its him, and if they try to chase him, he can lose them in 5-10 seconds....
