i am amazed at how this very ancient traditions have been preserved and still being handed down from generations to generations....india is such an amazing place...so much of culture and traditions....

@aspendxb A lot of our gratitude should go to the Namboodiri-s of Kerala who have been maligned as caste-bound Brahmins, conservatives, etc. Who else can preserve something from the tradition except cultural conservatives? Yes, we need change. Yes, change is inevitable. But change should not be something that wipes out all the past regardless of good and bad. One thing is certain: without the conservative instincts of Namboodiris, both Kootiyattam and Kathakali would have become extinct.
