I am 28 and my ears are ahead of my shoulders. Been very painful most of the time for the past 4 years. This was a result of me being overweight in my teen years and using the computer very often. I am from Los Angeles, CA and would like to know if there is someone who can fix this chronic problem for me. Thanks.
what exactly is the difference between a myoskeletal therapist and a chiropractor? I mean, I guess I could "google" it, but I'd like to hear it from someone who would have a better idea--at explaining as well as the nuance details--than I could discern between the literature on the internet. Thank you.
@Ronnock Myoskeletal Alignment is a deep tissue method that seeks to restore balance and range of motion to all soft tissues including muscles, ligaments, fascia, and joint capsules. Joint mobilization is achieved through systematic "hands-on" stretching of these tissues. No "popping" of joints or jerking motions in the MAT method.
@daltonmyoskeletal Got it. Thank you very much. Heheh, I suppose the dichotomized methods were pretty self-evidently different. One used popping and thrusting, while the other is more about relaxation and massaging--on a VERY fundamental level. Thank for your reply.
@OAKSTREET1960 On my website we have a list of Certified Myoskeletal Therapists. I see two in San Jose... many more in other parts of CA. Look for the link on the bottom of each page. Good luck... Erik

Most people who work on computers end up sooner or later with a pain in the neck. Maybe they should go to people like Erik to get things fixed.
