  • I've had three standard poodles, two of whom had this kind of a response after strenuous exercise. One had Cushing's desease and the other was just diagnosed with Addison's Disease. Thank God for a great vet.

  • Marley and Ash, It was EIC with my dog. the reason he seized is because it was a hot day and he could not cool himself properly, went unconscious from suffocating and then started seizing. Horrible memories.

  • My dog died of EIC and I didn't know about it until after his death. He only knew one speed when he played "full bore" and he didn't know when to quit. I had to regulate his activity or he would go until he collapsed. If you are throwing a ball for him and he slows down in the slightest, make him stop and get him to drink water as soon as possible. My poor daughter took him out while I was doing homework and he collapsed, seized, and ultimately died. EIC is Deadly. Take care with your dog.

  • @RonALampman After his first collapse we stopped throwing tennis balls for him altogether: even though (from being a labrador!) that was his favourite game. Sorry to here about your dog, but it sounds like more than EIC? From what i've read on EIC, it is simply the loss of function of the legs etc, not a seizure.

  • my Lab has EIC, this is exactly what she looks like when she collapses. It lasts 20 minutes and then she gets up like nothing happened. It is so scarey. We dont play ball with her much anymore and always keep her in the yard for fear that she may run off and then collapse somewhere. Good luck, take care of Marley

  • its EIC nt deadly (mostly) my dog has it (labrdor) he just falls out i that he was really lazy

  • @MrJmandude Tests have been sent to america and from what they know so far about EIC it isn't that. My dog isn't just doing this cause he's 'lazy' either! He can't walk when he get into this state "/

  • @MarleyAndAsh i said i think he is just lazy (my dog) your dog looks like it does have EIC....... mine has EIC he was tested

  • :(

I'm afraid I know what that is...

My german shepherd has the same thing, Marley has spondylitis.

The only way he get get back to normal is on a special dog wheel chair.

I'd suggest taking him to a vet, as at of people have put their dogs to sleep because of this, my dogs still fighting.

    Get well soon Marley x

  • omg i feel so bad :( arthritis maybe? that is the only thing i can think of.....

  • Marley <3 hope everything's well with the dogs.

let me know how things are. bless him <3
