So many people rave about the over-acted and un-suspenseful Fatal Attraction, but, Play Misty For Me surpasses that film on every level. It is so intelligently done and every second, even the sunny outdoor scenes, is filled with an overwhelming sense of uncomfortableness and dread. Jessica Walter takes her role to the bank, playing a woman who is so terrifying because she is capable of ANYTHING. Even her laughing moments make my skin crawl; there is just something in her eyes that spooks you.
