@AMULDARRY Shurely it is possible. One just have to waterlock the basement properly, and the roof overhang should be wider. About 0,6 - 1 meter is usually enough. Depends on predominant winds. It's also a good idea to have cornices hanging at every storey for a multi-storeyed house, like in traditional chinese architecture, which was originally designed for humid climes. And, the territory around the house would better be drained efficiently.
@lilleke013 There are plenty of big ones, and cob is very capable of that. I don't know why people have to build so small... I don't want to build a BIG house, but not this tiny!
@TreyRust Yes me too, I have a big family (2 kids and I want one more) so I need a bigger house. I have so much more to learn before I can start building, I can´t even imagine what the climate in eastern europa will do with the cob house...
@lilleke013 I tell you how is,I am from eastern Europe. Here all traditional houses are made from cob,in winter are warmy,in summer is cold inside.I speak about normal house-3-4 rooms, normal size.Modern houses are not made from cob and people who live in have problems in summer,is hot inside. So,this is the best house:COB house. In winter we make fire in evening and in the morning is still warm, cob walls have this advantage to keep constant temperature inside.
WOW I WANT ONE OF THESE MY HOUSE IS FALLING APART LOL
