Brent -- Tonight's the first time hearing this emotive song - I just love it! Thank you for posting it along with the lyrics!!!!! Straight to favorites!
I had the pleasure of seeing Gene in concert in 1997 in Toowoomba QLD Australia. I was one of only about 5 people under the age of 30 in the theatre. My friends and i had a blast listening to the big band sound and absolute talent of this gentleman. I can still remember the quality and sound of his whistling and how amazed I was at his awesome voice. What talent!!! RIP Mr PITNEY
@Tonithenightowl Yeah it was great. I was right in the front with two friends. We were the only ones without grey hair. :)
He was fantastic. Brilliant voice and wow could he whistle. He had this great old style "Big Band" and put on one hell of a show. I was dared to jump up and yell out "YOU ROCK" and due to a couple of glasses of pre-show red wine, I was willing to comply. He looked at me with a smile and said "Thank you" Probably thinking I was an idiot. Great night. one of the true greats.
@AG4572 It's nice to see young people with good taste in music. I'm sure he didn't think you an idiot, that was a compliment coming from someone without gray hair lol.He was always so gracious to his fans. One of my greatest regrets is not having seen him in concert but I'm glad you did. He was truly a gentleman and fantastic showman. To me, the best male singer of all time. thanks for taking the time to respond Peace Toni
i used to listen to gene pitney as a child when my parents played is albums, one of the greatest singers he always sung is songs with plenty of emotion love is songs.
Gene was a top notch singer. Used to listen to him in the 60's. I had seen him in concert but as luck would have it I was able to catch performance in Vegas a few months before he died. He sounded as good as ever. Thanks for posting this song.
God I love Gene Pitney, one of the best singers next to the Beatles, Roy Orbison, Johnny Rivers, Neil Diamond, and Gary Pucket. I love his voice.
These guys kick Justin Bieber and the Jonas Brothers ass it isn't even funny
