  • R.I.P String Bean! Ole Time Bluegrass at it's best!

  • Good ol' String! I still feel the fever brother! RIP and Lord bless!

  • Epic, cheers everyone. That's great stuff we never saw since we were kids.

Country today isn't any fun at all. Just a bunch of sackless crybabies.

  • better then rap my gay bro said so

  • why no audio for me

  • This is some good stuff. It's not "bluegrass", it's "old time"...

...but who gives a rodent's rectum? It's our history, and not many are keeping it alive. And ultimately, it's good music.

  • well well , what do you know ! America DOES have something called CUlture and History. :)

  • I genuinely love this music and the old Mississippi Delta Blues. I love Robert Johnson. I'd like to know more about him. All this is so beautiful.

  • this guy right here created the hip hop "gangster" clothes long ass shirt and sagging pants lol

  • loving the trousers, I see where the kids of today got their inspiration!

  • Real music!

  • Also many so called black blues standards are actually English folk songs. For example 'house of the rising sun' was originally an east Anglian folk song. All music is of mixed origin.

  • Carnut476. If you listen to 'when my blue moon turns to gold' or 'up jumped the devil' as performed by Clarence gatemouth Brown on the album 'black jack' or many of the tracks on the 'music of the medicine shows' album you may then realise that bluegrass and country hails from both black and White cultures. There were many black country fiddle players from the 1800's onwards.

  • This isn't Black music anyway shape or form !

  • Behövs ingen beskrivning. LOL

  • @warriorspirit3a. You mean 3 Yankees who

Don't know What theyer hatin about.

Theyer not from down ere so they have no

    Business hatin

  • Three soulless jerks disliked this video of a great Country and Bluegrass icon.

  • DAMN lookatem toe tappin lika damn jack

    Rabbit boi!

  • Don't let bluegrass' white hillbilly look fool you. It's birth is the least prejudice of any music. Bluegrass has Irish/African gospel roots. From the banjo, which is an African inspired instrument to the dancing. Poor white and black people worked in the fields together and played music together and made bluegrass.

  • @THEINVENTABLETHREAT Thanks for your input. I really didn't know about the origin of blugrass. I think it's a cool fact. You"re pretty awesome!

  • @THEINVENTABLETHREAT

There has always got to be a negative dunce like you. YOu can't just enjoy the good music, you have to analyze to death. Get a life this is good stuff.

  • @danzigvi you're a moron. nothing that he said was negative.

  • @icwutudidtharlulz go fuck yourself you stupid mother fucker

  • @danzigvi lol k

  • @THEINVENTABLETHREAT Bill Monroe's partner was a black man.

  • @THEINVENTABLETHREAT The lesson is: People create amazing things when they forget about stupidities like racism!

  • hellpp im in hillbilly hell

  • looks like grease ball from Pelham 123

  • I burst out laughing when I listened to it and when I saw what he was wearing! OMG this is so funny!!!!!!!

  • NOBODY back then could ever imagine that Stringbean would be a 21st Century hip hop fashionista with those pants!

  • @Pickinbuddy He was saggin' before saggin' was cool.

  • Whoa, is that a Fairbanks WL he's playing?

  • i feel bad for Stringbean, he grew up dirt poor, then he gets a chance to make a name for himself and make some money, and it gets him killed, he was a country and bluegrass pioneer but the sad thing is i bet none of todays country music stars know who he was, and hes not in the country music hall of fame.

  • i think he started a trend i see a lot of people wearing there britches the same way today

  • hahahaha true white people music HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!

  • MORE STRINGBEAN ON YOUTUBE PLEASE!

  • if string was still here he would still be the same character that he was on hee haw and hee haw would be back on air.

  • that banjo said get me an advil NOW

  • Mr. Beans Father ?

  • Way too cool I had forgotten all bout this guy what a treat!

  • it looks like his legs are really short

  • @SophiaSweethart dear it's a one piece suit

  • Very super awsome video my frinds

  • gee i wonder why they call him string bean. hehe awsome clawhamering

  • I have a costume and I know how to use it!

  • I have a costume and I know how to use it!

  • Good ole String! Always entertaining.

  • and todays youth thought THEY were the ones who started wearing there pants low to the ground!!! hehehehe

  • oh hey he almost looks like that one guy in um..mr. deeds? yeah but he was a butler ee~ love his pants there so short

  • I love it when Stringbean does his hat twirl thing!

  • Along come a stupid thief, murdered him and his wife. A lot of folks my age will never forget that. Stringbean will always be miss at the Opry.

  • He invented the tall T and sagging pants lol

  • Gotta love String Bean, those jeans were Little Jimmy Dickins, so they say

  • he sowed his pants to his shirts. It was a one piece outfit

  • hahahhaha

  • zomg his pants are SOOOOOO cool XXXXD

  • I died laughing to that comment that guy posted. Gangsters dress like that now; LOL

  • Dudes go argue some place else. Even Stingbean would tell you you both sound like dumbasses.

  • The difference here is that gangstah’s pants is to big that’s why they fall down, but Stringbean’s is way to small. They are pulled up as far as they go, while the young fellah’s wear them as low as they can. So please no more comments about stringbean being a gangstah. That would make him no better than the men that killed him!

  • this is my jam

  • gangsta on banjo

  • This clip is not from the 1950's - it's probably from a very early episode of "Hee Haw" on which Stringbean regularly appeared.

  • JOHN POCOCK

  • he looks like john torturrro.hahahah

  • @nunez2212 sure does.

  • Claw hammer banjo picking at its best. Ernest Tubb knows better than to get in the way of Stringbean; watch him jump, roll-back, and lung hack a cigarette oyster at .27. Grandpa Jones was probably the last great claw hammer banjo picker in Country Music... Eric Clapton also picks the banjo in this style.

  • OMG it's proof that the retarded saggy pants look was started by white people. Black people, you're off the hook for that mess. lol

  • @firstwave2 wow you really got me there. I can't compete with that kind of intelligence. Funny though that you call me a wetback when my ancestors were here looooooooooong before yours came and murdered, raped and pillaged their way to "discovering" America. lol Yeah your sense of entitlement is really deserved. That was sarcasm which I feel the need to point out since you're obviously an idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • @firstwave2 "Your comment was responded in a correctly to the Tee'"?? Was that supposed to make sense? lmfao And just so you know genius, despite what you ignorantly and incorrectly assumed of me based on my screen name which I simply chose because I happened to be eating a damn burrito when I made this account, I am Native American. Also i don't know exactly what I said originally that was offensive enough for you to feel the need to make a racial comment to me in the first place.

  • @MrBurritoSupreme There is nothing wrong with mr.String Beans habiliment - This was before you gang bangers were even a thought.

  • @firstwave2 What gang bangers you weirdo? Wow you really make no sense in any of your comments. Are you sure you aren't 5 years old?

  • @MrBurritoSupreme what ever gang banger - dont talk shit on String Bean - hopefully you will understand this before five years!

  • @firstwave2 Do you really think someone who cant even form complete sentences that make sense is going to be able to offend me? lol I'm just laughing at your ignorant ass.

  • @MrBurritoSupreme Try learning to read 'first' dip shit.

  • @firstwave2 That was cute, but actually II understand and speak English as well as Spanish and some French thank you. I've actually had some writing published and received awards for them. (what a gang banger I am) lolYOU should try forming sentences that make sense. I love it when someone thinks they are insulting me but they are only exposing their own lack of intelligence. I guess it's my fault for not speaking Dumbass.

  • @MrBurritoSupreme If you learn to read, it could possibly help you from continuing to live your life as a street walker.-I am just trying to help you,not insult your 'intelligence'.

  • @firstwave2 So am I a gang banger or a street walker? Please tell me more about this interesting pretend life I lead. Also how smart are you for typing replies to someone you say can't read anyway? lol

  • @MrBurritoSupreme I understand some of you street walkers, are able, to receive assistance through helpful ileus type thralls.

  • string at his best!

  • he didnt dress like that to be funny, he had a horrible physical disorder that caused his body to grow but not his legs. It was very painful, yet terribly amusing.

  • @damian7771 Ha! Ha! ----I don't think so---that' be a real abnormal affliction of the stretched body little pants

  • he looks like a home boy

  • check out those crazy teeth everything about the bean was coolness

  • To all those who wear your pants below your ass! This is who started it!!! The first man to wear his pants this way! Thanks mom for sharing this with us.

  • ya see, REAL gansta's today should be packin a banjo instead of a gun!

  • I spent time with "The Kentucky Wonder" in 1969 at the Opry...and I cherish a photo of him with his arm around me! He was MY hero. His idea for the "saggin'" was to have Jimmy Dickens donate to him a pair of his britches.

  • hay-kicking redneck

  • asi sin los verdaderos estadounidences gringos XD

  • HA I love watching Earnest Tubb jumping outta the way at 27 seconds, then doing a big Lucky Strike cough after moving! Not even ole Earnest is gonna get in the way of a hillbilly stomp maneuver! CLASSIC STUFF!!

  • It sad whatching this as Stringbeans was cut down by an assassin in Nashville after returning home one evening.

  • @dlagrua amen a ledgend

  • String bean was the orriginal sagger jeans sexy.

  • Pants on the ground. LOL

  • this dude invented sagging your pants....

  • @mxpx1364 THose were actually the pants given to him by LIttle Jimmy Dickens

  • @mxpx1364 but not so he could be trashy and filthy like these rapper hiphop filths are doing

  • @mxpx1364 Hahah ur right

  • gorly b the grace of god the south shal rize agen

  • i love how he dressed like that to be funny and gangsters dress like that now. lmao

  • @WILDKILLBILLY theyre wannabe's these'gangstas' if they wouldve ever met Al capone or someone like that, their blood wouldve run cold.

on topic, love this music. if i have it in the car i automatically start speeding :P

  • @WILDKILLBILLY lol gangsters ? were not in the 1920's anymore theyre called gangbangers

  • @WILDKILLBILLY yeah but they are just trash and he wasn't

  • @WILDKILLBILLY ...so THIS is real oldschool HipHop then? xD

  • @WILDKILLBILLY I dont see underwear in this video as in GANSTER DRESS.

I wouldn't insult string bean with this .

  • @WILDKILLBILLY Actually, Stringbean did it for humorous effect, because he was a silly but talented man. "Gangstas," however, derived their style of dress from the long heritage of prison life, where prisoners are not allowed to wear belts for safety reasons. An ancestor style actually existed as far as the 1920s. Though, not to the exaggerated extent of undergarments showing, they did baggy more to have "street" effect. Though they emphasized "street" life, real gangsters kept well-dressed.

  • @WILDKILLBILLY was the character "Pete" from Oh Brother Where Art Thou copied from String Bean's look? I swear they could pass as brothers if they were seen in person together!

  • hick song.....lol.

  • he was great and very funny it is sad his life ended the way it did, I hope the last Brown Cousin does not get parlore in 2011

  • I love how he flips his hat at the end

  • hehe.ol' earnest had to jump outta the way cause string bean was on fire...

  • VERY NICE

  • I love ole' string and his hillbilly stomp ain't nothin like it!

  • Stringbean was such a fantastic player! Thanks for uploading!

  • pretty neet seeing a young string bean :):)

  • It's all good music, I don't care what anyone says. It may take a little time to appreciate like any other good song but you can't always rush good music.

  • @breathholdchamp ...I love this kind of music. I dont like the music that when you turn the radio on the hair comes out around the dials.

  • One of the greates entertainers to ever perform on the Opry.

  • look for Grandpa Jones and Ernest Tubb in the background!!!

  • That was awesome! Thank you so much!!!!

  • I agree, he was such a good entertainer

  • great video!!

  • WOW that was goooood!!! Excellent Stringbean clip from the early 1950s.

  • Look at his clothing. It looks like modern gansters stole that look. If those gangsters only knew where the trend came from.
