  • Roleta é uma das melhores guardas que o BJJ ja teve a oportunidade de ver ..

  • bomberhhh , go train , Roleta is a legend ...

  • Submityojiujitsu! I dont know who you are nor do I care!...I do know Roberto Roleta and I have watched him roll with many famous black belts here in Brasil. This technique works and its very effective against very tough technical opponents. If you want to point out errors, I suggest that you make a video and post it on youtube so that we can see them, and then you should come to Barra da Tijuca and show us the right way to execute them.

  • I am a blue belt but I have won at the purple belt level. That being said I cant fit the inverted guard into my game at least right now. I compete under the Gracie Humaita flag even though my instructor is a Saulo black belt(its a long story) I have trained with both Royler and Xande and so my game is rather fundemental ABC jiu jitsu, but I always am willing to try new things so in time my game will expand to include this as well. I dont get why poeple talk shit on here use it or dont but stfu

  • @itscrazycock there is always room for expanding...it's jiujitsu, its not like its gonna run away from you, and its really fun to improvise with the inverted guard in class :)

  • KKKKK HORRIBLE

  • i disagree, Wallid ismail felt for that move, so did most of the good ass fighter back in the day.

Braulio Estima got submitted by Cyborg, with a reverse guard attack,

you should check out cyborg's video, he's calling this move the tornado guard..

  • crazy

  • Against someone who is not bendy yes you can defend against it, especially if u r heavier. But if someone plays an inverted or upside down that means they are very flexible.. It's very hard to do this guard if you don't work with your flexibility first off.

  • this @submityoujiujitsu prob doesnt know a shit, so u better stfu

one day you'll learn how affectvie is inverse guard

  • @faabiow no its true. The defense to the arm bar is you simply post on it and put your weight down so the attacker can't extend his hips to your elbow. BJ penn has a video and so does submissions 101. This guy might get this move on someone who is new but against a experienced person, it is all just wasted movement.

  • @PhatAlex1991 so, make sure u check ABmar barbosa x Kayron Gracie @ 2010 Pan american finals..

the inverse guard is not only to submit.. its also to sweep the guy..

  • @faabiow Thats true, but the set up is to reach for the leg. I feel like more experinced guys won't fall for that mistake and just back out.

  • @PhatAlex1991 Are you a white belt?

  • Why would you approach the armbar this way? When you made the transition on your back, all your opponent would have to do is stack you, then use his free left hand that you let go of to defend. It makes no sense

  • Inverted Guard's fast reacting and very mobile. If you try to stack it without excellent control of the guys hips, you'll get helicopter swept or hit with the spinning triangle. Notice, Roleta's also subtly changing his angle to the guy's guard. With the pants grab, his base is already way too compromised.

  • @submityoujiujitsu - wow you are the man. You are correct. This attack is very easy to defend, all you do is stack your opponent. I guess Roleta was very lucky when he used his shitty inverted guard to win four world titles.

  • @bomberhhh Bro sounds like you are taking it personal, the way the move was shown in the video displays some errors, if you show a move you should show it without techinical errors. What does having four world titles have to do with my comment?

  • @submityoujiujitsu the "technical errors" that you describe do not exist. Clearly evey technique can be defended and every technique has its limitations. However, your idea that this particular technique is fundamentally flawed such that you could easily stack Roleta is plain wrong. With regards Roleta's four World titles, I refered to them because they are evidence that he is not as "easy" to stack whilst in inverted guard as you seem to suggest.

  • @bomberhhh Let's look at the technique and examine the error. When Rotela makes the transition to inverted guard everything looks great until he makes the mistake of releasing his opponent's left sleeve in order to grab his opponent's inside pant leg. By making this transition before he secures his opponent's head, the opponent will use his now free left hand to push down Rotela's right calf to the mat. Once this happens there are multiple ways to escape. The move needs better technique.

  • @submityoujiujitsu at the point Roleta releases the sleeve, he gives insufficient time to grab his calf and stack him. How, if this technique is so flawed has he managed to use it to defeat the very best BJJers in the world. Have you every rolled with Roleta or more to the point any other mundail champion? I think that your analysis is both incorrect and arrogant.

  • Neil Adams made a similar version of this very popular and is highly effective. Affectionately named the adams roll

  • NICE !!!!!!!!!!!

  • highly weird.

  • Dificilmente essa técnica funciona, só se o cara mirimzar

  • awesome technique

  • this is an excellent tutorial, its an innovative way of obtaining an armber. i have never seen it before.
