I'm using it for Vid/Audio editing and some lite gaming, but if a want to turn it into a folding machine that will smoke your boots give me Algorithms or give me the blue man group, either way its all X86 and wonderful. Personally, I think AMD should make their boards in anodized green metallic that would look killer !

The only thing that I can think of that my friend's E8400 can outperform my Phenom II is in games that only utilize dual cores but then again, the difference is negligible.

Everything else, the Phenom II X4 is miles ahead.

In your last post, you said that the Phenom II X4's (either 945, 955, 965, etc.) are outperformed by the Core2Duo. Wrong.

Now you're comparing the Phenom 9350e (e for power saving) to an E8400.

I was talking about the Phenom II not the first generation Phenom. Of which is shown in your link.

I agree, some Core2Duo's outperform the first generation Phenom's however that has changed and they don't outperform the Phenom II.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but as great as that processor is (The best AMD has on the market, I know), it bottlenecks the 5970s. You're probably getting at least 15% less performance with the videos cards because of the processor.

the i7 is a physical quad core with 8 threads, that means the OS sees it as 8 cores but its only 4, QPI is the only real advantage of the I7, but i will wait for AMDs rendition of it.
