@1962drob I agree. :) Dokken is my favorite band from the 80s, I have all of their albums, seen them live twice and Tooth And Nail is my favorite album by them. It fucking shreds. :D It's one of those albums I can pop the CD in and just listen to the entire album and be happy.

These days when I listen to Hammerfall or Sabaton which are modern throwback bands.....I think often of the place where they got their roots. Dokken is definately one of the roots on that music tree. This bands was way ahead of their time and are only now really being appreciated. Thanks! That's it, wow I still remember hearing this for the first time when the album came out, this and then going into Tooth and Nail, I was like these guys are incredible. Unfortunately the production was terrible and the rest of the album was pretty lame. They really needed a Mutt Lange or someone like that, but from what I heard Don's ego was slightly larger than the average rock star.

@bluetiege Whitesnake had some decent songs and some fantastic guitar players. However, they should have stayed true to their heavy blues rock roots. They were great with John Sykes on guitar as well. After he was fired (stupidest decision ever), the band went straight downhill.

@nhawks33 I still have both the T-A-N and Yankee Rose cassettes (sheepish shrug) and can honestly say I never noticed the Shy Boy similarity before. Shy Boy was actually a cover of a Talas song, which was Billy Sheehan's band before he hooked up with Diamond Dave. Talas was kind of overlooked for an 80's metal band. They were OK.
