Well, it is a tough decision for me on the 2006 mvp, considering Nash's assist numbers.12 assists per game would technically count for 24 more points.Yet Kobe was averaging 35 points and 5 assists. MMMM it's hard for me to decide.I don't consider Wilt a better player for a number of reasons.They have the same ppg average, but Wilt has many more rebounds. Jerry West was playing with and against the likes of Wilt and B.R. It was definitely harder for him to get the MVP. I think Nash deserved the MVP those two years. He was leading the Suns to be one of the best teams. Kobe was having a hard time with his team overall, which is the same reason why Jordan never won a championship in the 80's.

Kobe wishes he was as good as MJ. MJ and his bulls where the only NBA dynasty that won without a dominate big man. LA, Boston, Detroit, Houston, Spurs, they all had great big men. Robinson was injured mostly during those years and retired at 37. Hakeem was injured during that time never was also 37 when the Lakers won their first title.

Personally, I think if Kobe goes back and replaces Jordan, he would win just as many rings, if not more. Also we would be calling him the greatest to ever play the game. Same goes for Lebron, even though he's more of an athletic freak than a basketball player.

There were at least two top fifty greatest players in the history of the league on his team when he was winning championships. Well, it is a tough decision for me on the 2006 mvp, considering Nash's assist numbers.12 assists per game would technically count for 24 more points.Yet Kobe was averaging 35 points and 5 assists. MMMM it's hard for me to decide.I don't consider Wilt a better player for a number of reasons.They have the same ppg average, but Wilt has many more rebounds. I just think Wilt was too inconsistent in the postseason, and had too many problems with big games. Jordan was one of the best big-gamers ever.

Jerry West was playing with and against the likes of Wilt and B.R. It was definitely harder for him to get the MVP. I think Nash deserved the MVP those two years. He was leading the Suns to be one of the best teams. Kobe was having a hard time with his team overall, which is the same reason why Jordan never won a championship in the 80's.

Kobe wishes he was as good as MJ. MJ and his bulls where the only NBA dynasty that won without a dominate big man. LA, Boston, Detroit, Houston, Spurs, they all had great big men. Not to mention that all the other teams had a strong core of other players that made the team what it was. Jordan of course had Pippen, and rodman, but rodman was only a defence threat. There isn't one guy who is better at help defense right now at the small forward spot then Scottie is today. How many charges did he take? He was also a nightmare on the ball (esp on the perimeter) w/his wingspan n lateral quickness.
He was also a better then avg. scorer, rebounder n passer. His athleticism in his prime was top notch.

Everyone is in trouble on perimeter defense in this era due to the pussy rules. That's why you seem Arenas dropping 60 on Kobe and Allen dropping 50 on him. That wouldn't happen in the early 90s if Kobe were defending them at that point. MJ would have troubles, like anyone today, but fewer than everyone else, or as few.

First you say Jordan did it when the other greats were old now you change your argument when it benefits you. Barkley retired in 99 Lakers won in 2000. Robinson was injured mostly during those years and retired at 37. Hakeem was injured during that time never was also 37 when the Lakers won their first title.

Well Jordan still is percentage points higher than WIlt on scoring average, has more scoring titles, and broke KAreems record for most consecutive games with double figures both of which are greater thank Kobe. So now you are admitting that Shaq was the main man in LA hence the reason he won leauge MVP and finals MVPs with the Lakers. As far as Iverson sharing the ball not only does AI average more points he also average more assists than Kobe.

Kobe is not even the most dominant in his ERA. Jordan's era was tougher because every team had a legitimate big man, you could hand check, did not get 3 shots when fouled behind the 3 point line. Shot clock reset to 24 instead of 14 like now which they did to increase scoring.

That's right bounce, and Jordan did all that in a tougher defensive era on the perimeter. Today, even if someone thinks compeition is better at swing spots, they aren't allowed to play defense at the level they were during MJ's era. Rules are tailored specifically for swingmen to showcase their athleticism and score more easily. MJ would be even deadlier on offense in this era, with increased stats. And he would be tailor made for this era defensively.

Jordan is statistically better than Kobe in every category except a small percentage 3point shooting. Jordan is the greatest score of his Era. Kobe is number 2 in his Era behind Iverson. Jordan number one scorer in the playoffs. Kobe is #7 scorer in the playoffs in his era. Jordan is number 4 overall in average steals per game. Kobe is not even in the top five among active players. Jordan was the most dominant in several categories. Kobe is not the most dominant in his ERA.

Spin it however u want but Kobe still got his shit packed by Hedo at the end of the 4th of game 2.
He still has a monumental meltdown in game 3. Two missed three's, a turnover and 1/2 from the line in the last 2 mins of the 4th. He was also 5/10 from the line for the game (and u wanted to bring up free throws).
Game 4 he went 11-31 from the field.
So he played 2 good games out of 5. These Finals were more about Ariza and Fisher emerging then Kobe.

LBJ had 38.5 ppg, 8.0 apg, 8.3 rpg on 48.7% shooting from the field against Orlando in the Eastern Conf. Finals.

Certainly u aren't referring to Kobe's fg% that hasn't changed. I believe he shot 42.9% from the field in the NBA Finals, at 30, in his prime.
It's the 3rd straight finals that he's shot under 43% from the field.
Game 1 was impressive for Kobe I must admit. I particularly liked how he went 1-6from the 6 min mark to the 1:59 mark in the 4th. By the time he hit a shot w/2 mins to go the Lakers were already up by over 20. Typical Kobe move though, jackin up shots to get his stats.

Game 2 gettin blocked w/the game on the line by the Hedo was impressive.
Nevermind his breakdown in game 3 in the 4th. Missing two 3 balls, goin 1 of 2 from the free throw line and turning the ball over. (5-10 from the line for the game)
Game 4 goin 11-31 from the field only to have Derek Fisher bail him out w/that 3 ball that sent the game into overtime

That Knicks team had Ewing, Starks, and Charles Oakley one of the premier rebounders and defenders. Teams were better back then because there was not an influx of early entrants. Since you want to bring up the past I'm sure you remember Bryant putting up air balls in the playoffs against the Jazz. You also leave out the fact that during those first three champions Shaquille Oneal was the most dominant player in the league.

MJ is put on such a pedestal that no matter what anyone does he will always be the greatest in most people's eyes . There were at least two top fifty greatest players in the history of the league on his team when he was winning championships. Even in 1993 when he retired the first time the bulls still won 55 games. I don't think you can say that kobe is not as good as jordan because he won more rings than kobe.
