So I'm done watching the whole movie now and still don't really get it... So my thought tells me looks like he really is in fact a psycho patient in real life. All these going back and forth into different times, acting in different ways to make different outcomes.... I don't get it, like the doctor said, i think he's just living in his own fantasy and dreams?

All i know is this was the alternate ending the ending i saw was much more sad. The one where he went back in time to when he was a baby and strangled himself with the umbilical cord. Can someone help me find that ending?

@longfootbuddy, i think it's because kailey said that she had a choice when her parents split up, if she wanted to stay with her father, or go live with her mom, she couldnt stand her dad, and evan was the only reason she stayed, and she didnt know evan then when she had the choice, so she moved with her mom, and never spoke to her dad again probably, so everything turned out ok ...that's just my thoughts on it.

I still don't see why Evan couldn't have gotten back and told Kayleigh and Tommy to go to their moms and he would see them again someday. Him and Lenny would have been fine and Evan could have still been friends with Kayleigh and Tommy! The directors cut was a bit to depressing but in a way this one depresses me a bit more. I liked Evan and Kayleigh together and those JOURNALS! HE BURNT THEM! Why?! But, yeah.
