Excellent tutorial, and you do what is most important when teaching music... even though you may not be a pro guitarist, you have a wonderful way of presenting it, and you obviously are a good musician regardless of technical abilities. Most people dont sing out the major/minor, and get it into the students ear..that is so important, but often left out. Your musicianship comes through, and teaches the fundamentals of the ear... great job... more teachers like you. You are a blessing.

I've plyd 4 17 yrs & been stuck on the 1st 4 frets and in 1 lessn u hve helpd open the door for me. Thank you. I wuld like to share a tip. it wuld help u and evrybdy , if that is ok?... whn finger placemnt or pickn pattrn to say (if low E= 6th string, & its a G chord)- "ring finger, 6th string,3rd fret... Middle finge 5th string, 2nd fret... pinky on 1st string, 3rd fret." same with strum pic.... "hit 6th string, skip 5th and then pic rest,.. evn without that, youre a good teacher

you're awesome. are you a musician (although you might not be a guitar player)? i think it might be difficult to distinguish the modes by ears otherwise. whatever you bring to playing guitar, on the other hand, is really useful. @Talkin2Me4000 no, actually he really dowsnt know how to play. but other than most beginners, he has "ear" and a good voice. with that u can magae very fast these easy major minor chords, indeed. but he doesnt know hes playing maj7 and m7 chords instead. not knowing what ur doing isnt a problem to a certain degree, just hit what sounds good to you. many famous guitar players startet like this and even dont know the theory behind their playing today.

@guitar789 Whether he knows theory or not, he's playing the guitar, and well! Thats all that matters. He has a system that works for him. For him to play that well and say he doesn't know how to play is ludicrous! Humble at best. He says "It's called a fret, I think." He knows what a fret is!

@Talkin2Me4000 well I cant prove that he knwos guitar playing but could teach his system to any singer who didnt play guitar before, and he(the singer) would learn it in 1 or 2 days - i even tought a similar system to a singer from my old band and he played basics rythms on the next day. if u already have feeling, are musical and know harmony u can learn the basics lightening fast. thats just my guess

of course many of the chords played are actually variations on the same chord, you can look this up. I hope these are right.
