However, every video i see about notebook coolers says that "you can feel the air."

Someone should put like a piece of paper or something on top of it :/ My Logitech Notebook Cooling Pad (after....8 months?) doesn't even make the paper twitch or anything....it's almost as if there's no air flow, although if you put your hand on it, you can feel the airflow.

I agree with your comment, however my purpose of use is essentially a desktop replacement, I use gaming peripherals (keyboard, mouse, etc..) So, I couldn't do that on my lap.

i was thinking about buying this cooler but im not sure if i can place it in my lap without burning me. i usually dont have may laptop on a desk or something but take it with me and lay it on my lap a lot. Is this cooler only meant to be used on a desk? or can i put it on my lap?

@Richxx105 I would not recommend this for your lap. Underside is essentially a large caged fan and the four corners of the metal frame. Ideal for desk/table use. Even on a mattress it is not idea, the fan just gets smothered into the mattress.

This cooler sucks air away from the bottom of the computer and out the back. Since it has a decent angle there is plenty of circulation to push the hot air out.

I think I misunderstood your question, YES it should work. most laptops have their internal coolers blowing air through different vents. however this cooler will still be able to cool the ambient air around the computer, therefore assisting the stock cooling system in your laptop. Hope that answers your q.

Hey man, thanks for the video. do you know what the rpm is on the fan? big fans = low rpm. doesnt say on the website. if you cant, can you try putting a tissue over it and seeing how fast it gets blown away on the high setting.

hey yeah i have the dv7t 2000 so im guessing that the cooling set up should be the same, 1 question i have b4 buying it, dont you have a fan from the laptop thats located on the top right corner?? (when bottom is facing you) that fan sucks in the cool air so doesnt the metal plates on the cooler block that fan?

I don't have an app (i think) that displays my temps, however I did notice a huge difference just on the outside surface temp. I believe I read somewhere on a msg board that internals were about 3-4 degrees cooler. You will love it I'm sure:)

lol, yeah I bought it at frye's electronics for like 4 bucks it is actually very thin and comfortable its like a latexy feeling thing. Sounds like u got a sweet system. I just played crysis yesterday for first time. But heres a list of the games I have installed:Left4Dead, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Warhammer 40k, FEAR2, Fallout3, Endwar, Call of Duty WAW, Wanted. I agree w/you airflow from keyboard was a major concern. I monitor it, however, and I havn't seen problem with heat, even w/argus cooler

lol yea it is, i modify the crysis config to disable shadows and stuff, cause they just eat frames, and GTA IV is coded horribly and its CPU intensive instead of GPU intensive so yea haha
