  • This is not the original version sold as a 78 RPM album. This is a shorter radio version.

  • Best cover of this song I have heard yet!

  • The story of my life..

  • Does this song remind anyone else of the movie Coneheads?

  • "No frills, no remix, just the song as originally released with a jpg of the album art" FUCK YES! The only way to go.

  • This is the version I remember hearing first; tho' any version rocks! Even the S/M esque original video....ah, good times...

  • Love this!!! Promo music for American Horror Story

  • Hetero Homo or BI still a great medley

  • Apparently, this is almost like a Tom Jones song - with double meaning- but the fiith is in the persons mind so, you be the judge of your thoughts. The music and video's choreograph are unique ... nevertheless, any adult video where involves a child in it -as the "spot light ", it is critisized if bad terms nowdays because we are a nation of " political extremist ".There is so much negative propaganda that we actually forgot the value of the art and dedicating a song to a child in good faith.

  • even though its a breakup song lol

  • super sexy song....just want to listen to it during a thunderstorm with a guy i love :)

  • Oh thanks for this I appreciate the work but I do really like the 8 minute plus version with the slow build into where did our love go and he sounds so much more wounded on the remix when where did our love go. But again thanks

  • Okay folks tainted love can be so many things-Forbidden Love or the love that dare not speak it's name are referring to homosexual love, Love can be tainted because you're fucking the bosses wife.

Anyway tainted love without where did our love og is like stopping in the middle of a blow job or finger fuck yes I am including men BJ and women FF it's only fair.

You know Youtube told me I misspelled fucking. How odd.

  • who cares what its about, its a good song either way

  • This has been stuck in my head all day.

  • goooooooooooogle it fools

  • LOLOL...i just gave so many thumbs up...

  • 240p needs to die.

  • I had that 12" single! Great memories!!

  • Where did our love go?

  • Brings back memories from way back... OMG that means i`m old

  • yes first dislike

  • this song wasnt even in my era but love it!!!

  • Yeah - there`s just only one better version of this track - the maxi-version !!!

  • Some people claim that the remix version is the original but they are stupid this song is the original stupid heads.

  • @ndthe1 Gloria Jones.

  • Been there.

  • I Love This Soft Cell 1981 Hit, "Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go?," Which Became A Top 5 Dance Hit In America.

  • Gotta love this song! Went to a class re-union & twin brothers were dancin to it! Great dancers! If you ever want to get a ego boost, go to your class re-union LMAO

  • I love the fact that so many Frat Boys play this song at their beer parties, completely oblivious to the fact it refers to homosexual lust, hahaha!!

  • @Genkimark hmm... completely oblivious to the fact it refers to homosexual lust? if you're thinking of it that way, you're probably gay.

  • @stinxophrenic ...are you at all familiar with Marc Almond??

  • @Genkimark There is a LOT of different types of 'tainted love.' We are only limited by our imaginations (and proclivities).

  • @Genkimark I couldn't agree with you more!! Sadly those same "straight" Frat Boys will be running their daddy's company in a few years.

  • @Genkimark

homosexual lust? how on earth did you get that from this song? I thought it was totally obvious that Tainted Love was about feeling stuck in an abusive relationship.

  • @Genkimark It does? Haha allright.

  • @Genkimark you're a judgmental stupid fucking idiot. You have no idea whether 'frat boys' playing this song are gay or straight, stupid faggot.

  • @rocketscience21 I think he was referring to the sexist and womanizing archetypal "Frat boy".

  • @Genkimark And how do u know they rer straight?? or does it really matter what the song is about? If u are gay do u only play songs about gay couples????

  • @Genkimark

If you have ever seen the music video I don't know how you could interpret homosexual lust from this song.

Maybe you are reading too much into the song.

  • @Genkimark maybe your just homosexual

  • @Genkimark were did u get that , really,,, because the video is actually about his wife cheating on him with the black dude, and his daughter not being his, of course the wife doesnt know that he knows, but that is what this songs about,,, actually it was done by gloria jones in 1964, so hmmm no your fucking stupid , maybe ur just gay and want to claim this song same way your community has claimed so many others well let me tell u something , your not getting this one u gay bastards fuck off

  • @Genkimark This is not about "homosexual lust." As @Genkimark wrote, "There are a LOT of different types of 'tainted love.'" The original 1981 video had band members Marc Almond and David Ball in togas on Mount Olympus. It seemed to reference several variations of "tainted love." There was a woman, a shirtless black man, a clean cut young man with a scratch on his face (S&M?) and, most predominantly, a little girl. (Wonder how THAT got past the censors). It is whatever you want it to be (IMHO).

  • @Genkimark Actually (and I'm sure you know this by now), Gloria Jones recorded the original version of "Tainted Love", which was written and produced by Ed Cobb in 1965.

  • Just wondering but I have tried to find this EXACT version and length on CD and can not seem to find it. Where did you find it? Its either live with the short version or the 9 minute long version and nothing in between. This is what they played on the radio in 82 not the long ass version. Any suggestion is helpful.

  • @djtutone It's on one of my 80s compilation CDs. Can't remember which. Let me find out and get back to you.

  • @Parmenides320 Ministry of sound- Electronic 80's 1

  • @Parmenides320 did you ever find out where you found it? i can only find the super long version or the version without where did our love go

  • @togepreee Thought for sure I'd posted it before. I ripped it from "Hard Rock Cafe: New Wave" (available on Amazon).

  • @djtutone OMG! Did I not post the CD name? I am SO sorry. Thought for sure I had. The CD I ripped this from is called "Hard Rock Cafe: New Wave"

  • Billboard's #11 song of '82. Only hit #8 pop, but, spent a then-record 43 wks. on the Hot 100 chart. How'd SC do in the UK? God bless! Also hit #12 rock.

  • Ok I'll throw out a thanks, I've been looking for this specific version, without the whole where did our love go shit, and the crappy video version or the remixes. Thank you for uploading this.

  • 2:22 onward ftw

  • i have this album on vinyl

  • Ohhh its cut! Cause it takes waaaayyyy longer to get to Where did our love go. In total its like 6 minutes

  • @blackopsrule Sorry. It was hard enough even finding a version with Where Did Our Love Go on it. It's amazing the number of recordings of the song without that. DID see there's an extended play version on YouTube. It's a bit...odd, more than just an extended play. Maybe it's the one you remember. youtube.com/watch?v=srtuQU20QXA

  • @blackopsrule It's not "cut" - it's the Radio version and exactly what I was looking for
