Those involved in commercial diving or those who wish to because it is cool.....hey, it is cool. There are many paths to commercial diving though and most offer experiences that give great job satisfaction. However, continuous pressure at depth for extended periods requiring deco, has been shown to contribute to bone-marrow decay. Be advised, that the older you get, the less you want to have that happen.

Bloodanddirt, if I were you, I would reconsider the whole commercial diver thing. Otherwise it's only a matter of time before somebody hurts your feelings. Also I think you may have a distorted idea of what the job entails. Save your money and stick to SCUBA.
