Irregardless of your self-defined terms for what is the "same", I also recall them doing xrays of the damage after the fall, and found that hitting concrete was at least 2 times more damaging in terms of broken bones. A teacher of mine cliff dove a 175ft waterfall in hawaii, he almost died, and found out later that 2 other people had tried it and died. But, jumping into water from that height is possible, so I would be tempted to say that this is not a true base jump. Base requires that your life is saved by the parachute, it's not certain in this jump. But still fuckin tight! nice work.

a base jump can be at any height. just as long as a parachute opens and catches you its a base jump

actually, people die from 200 ft falls into water nearly all the time. look at all the suicides that have occurred on the golden gate and coronado bridges as an example.
