i remember i went here as a kid a few times, i used to play sega nonstop, it was really fun, it was a modern style indoor virtual theme park, it worked really well, but after the 90s it lost popularity to prices, no one could afford it. plus sega was getting fazed out by stuff like xbox
Haha, ohh man i have soo many fun memories from Sega World. I remember i got scared on the rail chase and cried (i was about 5 years old at the time =D) Lol.
i wish someone makes a time machine and warps us back!!
I Remember going there in 1997 with my cousin when i was four and there was also Sonic Live in Sydney it featured Sonic, Tails and Sally(She was Sonic's girlfriend from the SatAM cartoon and the ongoing Archie Sonic the hedgehog comic book series.) trying to stop Robotnik taking over Australia. The Sub-plot showed Tails flying over Sydney Landmarks. It was cheesy but exciting! After the Show we got our photo taken with Sonic and Sally. Someone please make a Time Machine so i can enjoy it again!
It has been demolished. That whole 'Darling Walk' section has been leveled to make way for some shopping centre or an office block of some sort built by lend lease.
IT HASNT BEEN DEMOLISHED!!! The building is still there it is just that all the rides and stuff have been auctioned off. It was closed due to low visitors and financial problems. I can remember this commercial and my dad taking me to it after we saw it. i was very scared to go on the railchase because it was about some DR Birdhead or somebody.
Live with it, IT IS GONE. The clock has been broken, the cheese has moulded, the fat lady has sung, IT's GAME OVER of Sega World Sydney! (and new beginning for Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour)
@MrNickoPicko sadly the building was demolished in late 2008 thats about 3 years ago theirs a video of the building being demolished some where on youtube. sucks they closed very shortly after it was open.

that tune that they use is also the same tune that the Disney Hollywood Studios uses for their "harbor attack" special effects demo.
