  • very good explanation

  • If you are starting in shizen no kamae and by avoiding the first strike. You end up doing a jodan uke like "block" and you are at a 45 degree angle. Why on earth would you start from shizen no kamae then bring the feet together and then spreading them apart again to a 45 degree angle? It seems a waste of movement and time. Even for instructional purpose why would you teach someone to waste movement? Around 3:20. I am honestly curious and not meaning to be offensive.

  • this is the kata of it. not combat applications. even sanshin dont look like sanshin from gyokko ryu when you are in real combat. go to my vid 107 ok

  • Ok, Thanks.

  • Interesting...

  • thanks for post this video still train in my bujinkan dojo i hope i get my green blet soon.

  • i am looking foward to the video of the 16 fist.

  • yeah that would be great.

  • jason is a 4th kyu and still has learning to do ...but at his level, this is an excelent video!!! I am not trying to be insultive, but everyone learns at their own pace.

maybe you should practice your english gammer. see...it does not feel good to be critisized by a person that you do not know...a stranger. truthfully... your english is not impossible to understand. ninpo ikkan

  • because you train a HOMBU does not give you the right to critique his work and publicly insult his phisical state of being. I know ninja that are pretty overweight and they move with great taijutsu.

  • great instruction of jumonji. I would make a suggestion of getting an UKE to help with the videos so you can teach the timing along with the distancing and alignment.

  • Wow Master Jason! You're gettin' thinner.

  • your grammer is hard for me to read but i cant afford that or leave work but i wish i could i went to illinois bujinkan daikomyosai seminars once. i look forward to all of your great vids and i removed other comment. ok

  • Wow, high quality explanation.. 5 stars and a fav

  • Very Well explained 5 stars

  • awesome vid jason 5/5

  • Excellent!5 stars

  • Very nice. With the strike to the nose, is it a strike the cartilage or to the governing nerve at the base of the nose?

  • either and the fist can change to koppo ken and i will teach that fist in my 16 fist video i will make. just like it changed from boshi ken to a shuto ridge hand.

  • Awesome. I look foreward to that video.

So, the strike is less about doing real damage as it is to cause the crippling effects of a nose strike. Is that close? I would imagine shuto would not be a hard enough fist to do much more, at least not from the rising angle.

  • more of a distraction or a way to create distance and a slight distractions before the next punch is thrown and it might make the attacker decide not to throw the next one.

  • Excellent Video Jason!!! Very Well explained and broke down!! I would give you 10 stars if i could!!!! 5 will have to do! lol

  • thanks laura
