Of all the songs from the past, this is probably my favorite. I liked it in "When Harry Met Sally" when Harry Connick jr started it out and then gave way to Frank Sinatra.
@waterdog226 Usually you associate the 1920's with sentimental romantic music, but in this case I think that the lyrics are quite realistic. Somebody profesing love regardless of the faults in the other person. That is so often the case good girls loving bad boys, and there is no explaination for it. Must be hormonal.
But I do like the image of your gradmother dancing with a mop, as Jim White says "We spend all the time thinking of love and so little time feeling it"
@Idlinfarm Thanks for listening. There is something enchanting about music from a by-gone era, especially if it has a little bit of history and has been cover such artists a Billie Holiday
@StubyStubyDoo I think they had a different approach to making music back in those days. The chord changes are so much subtler than what you get in most modern music.

@MrJoncando I think I gave it some wellie from Billie... with Frank you could only give it some slipper. Wellies win... Slippers loose. Ask any fisherman.
@ljped It is a flawed love song. The couple are not right for each other, yet there is an irresistible attraction. Makes a change from the perfect romantic love song.
Really beautiful playing and singing of this. I love your version!

My grandma used to dance to this one, with her mop while she washed her kitchen floor. Thanks for this one...it was appropriately sentimental..
