  • Really beautiful playing and singing of this. I love your version!

  • Of all the songs from the past, this is probably my favorite. I liked it in "When Harry Met Sally" when Harry Connick jr started it out and then gave way to Frank Sinatra.

  • My grandma used to dance to this one, with her mop while she washed her kitchen floor. Thanks for this one...it was appropriately sentimental..

  • @waterdog226 Usually you associate the 1920's with sentimental romantic music, but in this case I think that the lyrics are quite realistic. Somebody profesing love regardless of the faults in the other person. That is so often the case good girls loving bad boys, and there is no explaination for it. Must be hormonal.

But I do like the image of your gradmother dancing with a mop, as Jim White says "We spend all the time thinking of love and so little time feeling it"

  • Thank you for this. I spent a pleasant time with your music along with the links and a glass of wine. Enjoyed it very much.

  • @Idlinfarm Thanks for listening. There is something enchanting about music from a by-gone era, especially if it has a little bit of history and has been cover such artists a Billie Holiday

  • I love your take on some of these old standards. Absolutely different and always entertaining and played superbly. Loved that

  • @StubyStubyDoo I think they had a different approach to making music back in those days. The chord changes are so much subtler than what you get in most modern music.

  • love the bent note!;-) all the links, Super!....

a classic.....glad you visit these old timers....they are some of my fav pieces, and for good reason.......great songs!your rendition, Super!

    Cheers, Rob!

  • @cinderellalifestyle Bent note... you know what they say... play a note wrong once it is a mistake... play it wrong twice and it is jazz :-)

  • enjoyed it:]

  • @Wrongemboyo3 Thanks for taking the time to watch. All the best.

  • Great Job Weeyin Happy New Year my Friend.

  • @TUCKERZONE Good to see that you are once again blessing us with your presence. Welcome back.

  • nice one, i like the retro frame

  • @krabbers Retro frame comes courtesy of youtube Editor. You can post process your video to give it a different look. Lomo and cross-processing give normal videos a more pleasant and polished look

  • ..is this the Billie Holiday version..??

    I can see it ain't 'Old Blue Eyes'..well played m8 :<))

  • @MrJoncando I think I gave it some wellie from Billie... with Frank you could only give it some slipper. Wellies win... Slippers loose. Ask any fisherman.

  • A classic song well covered!

  • @ljped It is a flawed love song. The couple are not right for each other, yet there is an irresistible attraction. Makes a change from the perfect romantic love song.
