I have never heard it explained this way but it makes sense. So after 12 years I finally understand why mine is considered a chiari 1 and not 2! Thanks
Excellent video - explains so much about my symptoms. Just wondering if coliac disease has contributed towards this condition and if there is any link, as i have this also/
i found out i have type 2 in november of 2009 and had a decompression on december 11 2009, watching these videos helps a lot while your trying to deal with it
It is so interesting to hear of people who actually know what chiari is. I have it also and feel so alone, cause noone here knows what it is. Not one doctor here as any idea what it is. I finally got to go see a chiari specialist in Mi Wi. They told me i have moderate Chiari but it does not fit criteria for surgery. I am happy to know FOR SURE why i have all the issues i have in my upper back and neck, but now i feel STUCK!! I am not sure what to do to learn to tolerate this? Suggestions?
I found out today that I have Chiari type 1 borderline and i'm sure what to think.I'm a little worried because i don't know what it means for me.I heard that some of the symptoms about ear ringing, headaches, and speech i have some of those symptoms. Also i have pinched nerve in my neck whick cases both my arms' joints, elbows, wrist and fingers to cramp up.I don't know what to think.the doctor said I was borderline, then why do I have these symptoms.I found out wen i got an MRI bc of a car accident
Thank you for posting and making this. I had Arnold-Chairi II when I was 15 (almost 20 years ago) and no one knew what it was and when my father finally found a surgeon who preformed the surgery, he was only 1 of 2 in the who knew about it and was able to preform the surgery. It's nice to know that there is more awareness out there and that there is more help available as well.

Great video. Now I finally get to understand the Chiari malformation. I wish they had explained it in the same way in text books as well.
