i'm glad to see that i'm not the only one who actually kinda likes jessica! sure, i may have hated her at first for being a catalyst in Chrolli's destruction, but she has since made enough of a turnaround for me to actually enjoy her scenes! she's funny, clever, and was one of the main driving forces in trying to reunite Chris and Olli!! sure she's still gotta work on keeping her legs crossed, but as long as she knows to stay away (sexually) from Chrolli, then she's OK in my book!

I don't know if the she show is sold abroad, but they have twice as high ratings (~20%) in the same time-slot as VL (~9%). ;) Kristina Dörfer is playing in the hospital soap "Herzflimmern" since this autumn. Meanwhile she was at home with her and Joscha's baby and did some other TV and film projects.
It's a lot like trying to make it as a visual artist, except more difficult. If a soap actor has a gig on a soap, good for him/her. If he can, he should stick to that soap, it becomes incredibly difficult to find work out of that niche. Also soap actors get paid a living wage, something like 70,000-400,000 Euros per annum. Not crazy money as American television stars. There just isn't the proportional viewing audience in most countries to support lavish wages.

As for Rafael surely they could have cast someone who actually looks 18 rather than someone who is clearly at least thirty and already has a receding hairline.

Thanks so much May. This breaks my heart but I love that both Jessica and Andi are saying what the audience is thinking! What I love about Jo and Thore's acting is that there is soo much going on behind the words that they are saying to each other. As actors they bring out the best in each other.

Remember, when Kristina Dorfer (Olivia) left, so did the original actor who played Sebastian before. He was her boyfriend and they left together to move to Berlin.

The writers have made no effort to explain the Jessica character so every time she hands out advice to Christian or Olli it just seems to come out of nowhere as I would hardly call her a friend to either of them. Mind you could Christian and Olli be any more infuriating, refusing to actually sit down together and talk about anything? As for Rafael surely they could have cast someone who actually looks 18 rather than someone who is clearly at least thirty and already has a receding hairline.

All I can say is neither want their relationship bad enough. They both have to just grow up and be adults. I mean are we watching Dawson's Crib, or 9021666?
