I have hummingbirds because I have red flowers. They love all the flowers, but the tall beebalm are one of their favourites. I don't like using a hummingbird feeder, because if I forget about it, the sugar water becomes a hazard.
The birdseed is falling on the rocks and growing "sprouts" - what can I use to prevent that from growing, but at the same time not harm birds from eating on the ground?
I find that all the birds will come to the sunflower seeds. Those that spill on the ground will attract the juncos.

No need to use red dye. It adds no nutritional value and may even be harmful to the hummingbirds.

I have a indoor cat,
but she likes to go outside,
my neighbor has a bird house,
but my cats not fast enough to catch the birds, =)
