  • You all eat Jacks?

  • where can i buy rar odors guns and pole spears?!

  • @Bigswole408 (w.w.w.) spearfishing.cc (except without the periods between each "W")

  • @md32903 - If you are north of the Bridge looking south (at the Bridge) it's to the left. half way where the roadside is and the bank stops. Then go out about 75-100 yards. There are several sets of Pillars out there - can see them from shore on a clear day.

Seeing as I live 1800 miles away, I can't just meet you there to show you. Sorry.

  • Cool

  • this is an awesome video, I've grown up in the keys and spearfished all my life but now that i live in tampa i didn't think there was much spearfishing. thanks a lot

  • Im in tampa im going pole spearing tomorro!!!

  • Thanks for the vidio. Wow

I live on Tampa. Can you please talk me how can i get there?

  • Man I live in the upper bay and didn't know you could spearfish around here without a boat. Great video. Did you hit any other spots from land when you were here?

  • @s8ang Yeah- on the south side of the Bridge I jumped in by a wayside and there were lots of Snapper, but I wasn't sure on the size limits- There were lots of fish there too - but the vis wasn't as good that day.

  • hey thanks so much by the way great vid

  • hey was that by the skyway we live in the area it looks where i spear fish at let me know please

  • Yes it is. If you stand looking south - that is the skyway and we went in the Tampa Bay (on left side looking at bridge) just along the rocks and out where the grass starts.

  • haha lol he shot a mullet. Those are like carp they got tons of bones and taste pretty bad comared to hog fish. Stick to deeper water you might spear some grouper.

  • we actually used the mullet for chum. I did end up shooting a grouper in the end in about 10' of water. We were unfamiliar with the area and didn't want to just start swimming around. I do love Hog though. Great tasting fish.

  • you shot a mullet?!

  • Should have shot some of the spades...they are as good as the sheeps (eating)...it's a funny thing that depending where you are fishing(what part of the country)certain fish are considered trash ie..(spade)...I swear by them! ;)

  • I wasn't sure if they were legal and if they were a good size to eat. It's alot easier spearfishing in WISCONISN- they say you can shoot all Pan Fish and Rough Fish- we don't have certain limits and restrictions. I went down there knowing I could shoot certain fish with Hog Fish (snapper) being #1 on my menu. I love it down there and can't wait to go back. Those who live down there and can spearfish/dive down there should feel blessed.

  • thanks now i feel better about buying a mask i wanted.

  • i am worried about buying a mask with a hard frame. under pressure it could put pressure on ur forhead and bridge of ur nose.

  • That's true with almost any mask- the key is to blow air into your mask through your nose. usually as I equalize enough air leaks into the mask.

  • yeah im goin crazy lookin for the riffe masks because i heard they were the best. do you think $60 is fair for the amber masks?

  • $60 isn;t bad- one of my favorite masks in the Sphera and runs about $30 if not less.

  • do you think i should get amber or mirrored lenses? amber help visiblity and mirrored dont allow fish to see ur eyes? i wish i could combine them. lol

  • I would choose Amber over Mirrored- but most importantly pick one that fits best and doesn't leak.

  • when did u guys go? this year in August?

  • no we went last April

  • i went there yesterday. its been mostly fished out. pretty sad. when i went there were 5 other guys out there. one of them a had stringer full of mullet and a sheep.

  • Wow! that sucks.

  • yeah it was an ok turnout. 6 ft visability. my gun is abput 4 ft long so i had to jam the gun in there face. sheeps were there but to small( i found out the hard way):( Im headed back in two weeks. there was some other dudes there. caught a big flounder.

  • im headed over there today. i hope i get as good vis as u guys did.

  • Good luck- from what I hear- that vis we had isn't that good. good enough for some fish to die ;)

  • the rest area before the bridge begins?

  • YES- on the EAST side.

  • yeah where were u guys fishing?

  • if your north of the "Sky way" bridge- Look at the bridge. we were on the west side- entered off of the 'rest area' and swam towards the bridge. about half way to the bridge and about 40 yards out.

  • Nice video. I'm heading there this weekend and weather permitting, I would like to find that spot and spearfish. So north side rest area on west side right? where did you launch or start swimming??

  • Yes- you are right on the location- We just jumped in the water and swam- we never were deeper than 12' of water.

  • was this in the bay or off the beach somewere

  • haha nice grouper... that one sheep looks a little short

  • That smaller Sheep was my buddy's- It did measure 12 inches. Barely, i think we had to stretch it :D - just kidding.

  • Nice Video! What kind of camera were you using?

  • it's a JVC Enviro HD 60gb

  • Ray odor is my hero

  • video is better if you change it to "Better" quality.

  • I like the song im in live in key west. and love spearfishing nice grouper

  • thanks - probably the fish i'm the most proud of. I know it's not huge-- but it was a great hunt.

  • Nice job guys!

  • Nice rap! LOL - Looks like you nailed the fish. Good job.
