This goes hand in hand with my previous statement, complacency leads to higher suicide rates. The more real world problems a person has to concern themselves with, especially when it comes to caring for others, then the less time they have to be self centered and to criticize their own life.

We need to realize that there are no scientific studies or evidence that proves that a chemical imbalance in the brain causes the symptoms associated to depression, ADHD, or other mental illnesses. We must help repair the damage done by years of propaganda and campaign. Only around few years ago, some respected experts in the fields have admitted that the concept of chemical imbalance is indeed a big hoax.

This goes hand in hand with my previous statement, complacency leads to higher suicide rates. The more real world problems a person has to concern themselves with, especially when it comes to caring for others, then the less time they have to be self centered and to criticize their own life.

@philonetic If a person suffers from depression it's a chemical imbalance which can cause suicide. Many people who are not self-centered take their own lives.

Chemical imbalance my ass, they can't handle life. The concept that a brain-based, chemical imbalance underlies mental illness is false. While popularized by heavy public marketing, it is simply psychiatric wishful thinking. As with all of psychiatry’s disease models, it has been thoroughly discredited by researchers. You're talking about neurotransmitters, by simply saying that a chemical imbalance in the brain causes mental illnesses is wrong.

Modern psychiatry has yet to convincingly prove the genetic/biologic cause of any single mental illness...Patients have been diagnosed with ‘chemical imbalances’ despite the fact that no test exists to support such a claim, and there is no real conception of what a correct chemical balance would look like.

We need to realize that there are no scientific studies or evidence that proves that a chemical imbalance in the brain causes the symptoms associated to depression, ADHD, or other mental illnesses. We must help repair the damage done by years of propaganda and campaign. Only around few years ago, some respected experts in the fields have admitted that the concept of chemical imbalance is indeed a big hoax.

Very amusing, Carlos, but more than a little frightening, too. Gertrude Stein coined the phrase, "The lost generation," and I've taken her observation and given it a more contemporary twist: If you're 45 to 65 you're now a member of "The Tossed Generation." (Basically our corporate masters would be happy to see us washed out to sea.) As the term fits your lesson in obsolescence, please feel free to use it.

That's funny, because most Secret Service, CIA, FEMA, PARR, PB, etc employees are from the ages of 50-70. Maybe it's the ones that never did for themselves, the real wastes of space who are now sucking down healthcare and unemployment and overactive social security, maybe it's those who are undesirable, yet our nation and govt still maintains elderly care, senior discounts, social security, and all other forms of financial aid for the older generation.
