@billie84105 *I* can hardly believe that this was almost two years ago! And...this has become something of a default behavior if we're just standing around talking to someone. Oops. Guess I need to work on full stimulus control. :)
What a great idea to use that target! I have two of those and had not even thought of this. I also took the cyberagility and wish I would have known that you had videos of your dog doing the lessons. That would have been so helpful. One of our best friends is a border terrier so it is fun to see your dogs. Thanks for sharing what you do so well!
@azmauigirl As I noted in the description, I had been working on this trick off and on for a few months before I thought to use the target. What a "duh!" moment once I pulled it out. :)
I started working on this trick in early 2008, clicking for any lift of the back feet (I used a mirror to watch). We then progressed to backing up to things (walls, steps, car tires) and I clicked for back-foot-on-object. In recent months I was clicking for foot/leg lifts out in the open but none were as spectacular as those you see in this clip. I wish I'd though to use my freestanding target sooner, because it apparently made total sense to Tycho.
I just watched this again, and I'm laughing so hard my eyes are watering! he is so darned cute! This is an all time fave.

It tickles me hearing how much fun you're having while training. And the idea for the cue is hilarious! Delightful!

This is amazing, as well as very entertaining. I think I'm going to try this with my Parson pup.
