To me, Harry and Hermione represent that you truly CAN have an mixed gender friendship that is VERY, VERY DEEP but purely platonic. As a girl with many guyfriends who would gladly "go with" them, this scene always makes me cry.
Was it just me or did anyone else find this to be the saddest part in the entire film? No one's death came anywhere NEAR how hearcrunching these 4 words were (except maybe Lavender's who, for some reason, I just found to be the most tragic death)!!! Hermione is someone we all need!
@ROFLitsChristian i did i was crying for the last 30 min since snap died and then i just busted out in tears and when harry was in the forest i was crying so hard that i thought i whjould not stop crying, then when i hard dumberdors voice i was happt thne i was sad agine
This is my favorite part in the intire movie series. #1 cuz it shows how loyal hermione is to harry and #2 how harry couldnt say bye to Ron cuz if he did he knew wouldnt be able to go alone
When I read the first book for the first time I was only like 6 years old and I remember reading the part on the Hogwarts Express and knew Ron and Hermione would get together but it wouldn'tbe until a few years and I was 100% correct!
In my opinion, Harry and Hermione should be together, but I don't want to argue about this and get into a massive fight, so yeah. Harry and Hermione have a beautiful friendship; an ideal friendship for a girl to have w/ a guy. I'm crying right now, it's so sad. I agree exactly with calitatirocks, I would be saying the same thing. They just can't live without each other.
This is such a beautiful scene, I wish people would see the scene for what it is and not as a piece in the H/Hr puzzle.. H/Hr did not happen, they were never meant to happen so please just shut up about it.. I blame Kloves..
this reminds me of the last ep of Lost in season 5 just before Jack drops the bomb. They all think they're going to die and the last face James wants to look into before he dies is Juliet's. Here Harry thinks he's marching off to his death and the last face he wants to look into is Hermione's.
This scene is the best Harry and Hermione scene of the series. It really shows what a strong relationship they have. It shows how good of friends all three of them are, as well. When she says, "I'll go with you" Ron doesn't get jealous. He knows how she feels about Harry, and he knows how she feels about him, and they're different. Ron is Hermione's love, but her love for Harry is strong and deep. She could never NOT offer to go with him. And Emma's acting, and Dan's too, is amazing in this. <3
Why J.K can not see? Harry and Hermione should be together, they complement, care, support ... One is nothing without the other, are willing to make sacrifices to save the other. Hermione would go to hell for Harry and he will always be protected from everything and everyone.
@psychotsunade I know. Ron is a great friend but you can not compare with the support of Hermione. She believed in Harry when no one else did, she stayed by his side in the war. I understand that Ron was worried about his family and leave without understanding that to Harry, he was his family too. Hermione left everything and not look back.
But I would not raise questions of this relationship. I compare Harry / Hermione vs. Harry / Ginny.
@hermcullen Why should she see? They're her books. Scenes like this and the dance never happened in her story. So it's stupid to suggest that she should have seen what was never there.
i'm crying right now it so sad :'( if you think when the dance scene was at the end harry and Hermione were looking at each other then she moved away from him then we saw this part that how Hermione was crying when harry moved away from her it like how they switched place and saw how they both feel when Harry or Hermione cant live without each other

Raise your hand if you cried or almost did (everyone at home randomly raises their hands!)

I can see Ron crumbling down inside. Rupert's eyes hold so much more than they are given credit for.

...Kay, let's not argue the Harry/Hermione ship right now. That line is Hermione's devotion through friendship for Harry.

One of the best scenes in cinematic history. Emma is amazing in it. It's such a touching scene.

In the book, Harry didn't say good bye because he knew it would be too sad. However, I'm glad he did say good bye in the film!
