  • That 35-40 year old TV will still be working after you buy anything today, and it dies.

  • The last time we had that television in our house was 1983. I remember as a child one of the pains with it was I would mistakenly pull one of the buttons off to change the channel!

  • I swear I saw Jesus for a moment! Amen!

  • That TV really does look too old to be solid state. Must be one of their first models.

  • I had a tv just like that years ago.

  • nice funny tv, but the only annoying thing is that, duo the rounded corner crt style, parts from the top, bothem, left, richt details of full size images is missing,so you better of to watch programmes in letter box so you will see all details,

  • I had the Vacume tube version of that same TV it used a 21LG6 as the horizontal output tube and a 19DE3 Damper

  • That must be a great item, but come 2009 in the next two months, it will go digital and there will be no more analog TV stations for you!

  • This set is connected to a DTV converter in this video.

  • The HDTV of the 70s

  • Neat television!

  • solid state tvs are hard is fix because they have senitive componets

  • They aren't bad if you have the right equipment and documentation. My '80s GE would have been easy to fix if I could get schematics for it, but they are no longer published. I was lucky, since the largest PS dropping resistor (which doubled as a fuse) cracked down the middle and filled the room up with smoke. Using an ohm-meter, I eventually found the shorted cap in the damper circuit which caused the problem. The ICs are the real deal killers; if one goes, the TV is ready for the dump.

  • Wow, definitely looks much older than what it is...

But GEs are one of my favorite TVs. And I really love this TV :)

  • Thanks! You'd even think that being GE it would be more likely to use tubes, but no...

  • aaah a good ol' GE! I like this TV. I love the rounded CRT style, but the control panel looks a little too new for the style of the rest of the TV itself... maybe it's just me.
