@swaingles Eso fue, porque Juan XXIII. al igual que todos los Papas, estaba concientes de que el entronizado era el Sucesor de San Pedro, no Roncalli, el coronado fue el Vicario de Cristo, no Giuseppe Roncalli, y si Luciani no quizo ser coronano, no fue precisamente por humildad, el temia mucho a la humillación, temia equivocarse en el ceremonial y hacer el ridiculo ante las multitudes.

Why did Saint Peter choose Matthias as a successor for Judas? So that Christs work might continue after their deaths! look at the lists of Pope from Peter to Benedict and you can see the beauty of- what we faithful who TRULY believe in God- 'APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION!'

Not really any pope has the choice to choose a coronation or Inauguration. Though not all could be revived for it due to the loss of almost the whole of the papal court.
