I understand your point but the "photo finding" statement is not quite good. Any Operating System give you the alternative to organize your photos and a powerful search that can find an specific picture faster than you so it depends on how well you use your prefered OS and how organized you are.

The app-selection bit looks dreadful! If the entire touch interface/layout/app selection can be customised, it will work - because third parties will do a much better job than microsoft will.

Microsoft need to change their attitude about what releasing an OS means. It should be about providing core tech to others to perfect. We would then, finally, get progress.
